RESPONSIBILITIES

This position is for Office of Admissions and Financial Assistance. Develop engaging and creative undergraduate admissions events throughout the entire prospective students' funnel from application generation to yield management, to position SMU as a University of Choice for prospective students. This includes taking the lead for SMU's flagship annual Open House and many other signature events. Conduct local outreach and grow strong relationships with key partner schools in Singapore, including participating in school fairs, campus visits and sharing sessions to engage with students, parents and educators. Conduct international outreach and grow strong relationships with key partner schools in Asia, visiting overseas high schools to give talks, participate in school fairs, and network with educators and principals. Overseas travel is a necessary component of the role. Support the Undergraduate Admissions team's selection and admissions processes during the applications season, including shortlisting applicants, managing applications and addressing applicants' queries. Run SMU's annual summer programme for high school students to create awareness of SMU as a University of Choice for international students, including working with external vendors, programme design, and operations management. Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

A university degree in any discipline. Excellent event management and project management skills, with a strong track record of delivering high-quality events with strong conversion outcomes. Understanding of trends across the higher education sector and ability to adapt these back into SMU's context. High energy level, with strong organisational, collaborative project planning and multi-tasking skills and a good eye for detail. Excellent presentation and communication skills, with the ability to respond to different types of personalities. Willingness to work on weekends and evenings when required for events and interviews. Proficiency in Mandarin is a requirement for this role, to conduct international outreach.
