What the role is:The International Affairs Division (IAD) of the Attorney-General\'s Chambers provides legal advice to all Government departments, Ministries and statutory boards on international law issues. The IAD also represents Singapore at bilateral and multilateral negotiations, and in international disputes, trade-related proceedings and at other international fora. We are a vibrant and relatively small Division which was set up in 1995 in order to advance and protect Singapore\'s interests through international law. Our work covers a diverse range of matters, including international trade law, human rights law, law of the sea, aviation law and international criminal law. The IAD Treaties Section coordinates all procedural matters related to the making and conclusion of treaties and other international instruments by Singapore. The Treaties Section offers treaty-related services across the whole of the Singapore Government, by vetting and advising on the drafting of treaties and related legal instruments, and providing guidance on policy, processes and practical issues relating to the negotiation and the conclusion of treaties by Singapore. The Treaties Section also serves as the central repository of all treaties which Singapore has entered into. The Treaties Section also develops and maintains legal technology and tools related to knowledge management of treaties and international instruments entered into by Singapore.What you will be working on:Responsibilities include, but not limited to: \xe2\x80\xa2 Working closely with the Team Lead to design and implement effective workflow processes to ensure that the KPIs of the Treaties Section are met. \xe2\x80\xa2 Assisting with the engagement of key Ministries/agencies to identify and assist them with the procedural steps in the treaty-making process, as well as establishing and maintaining long term relationships to promote a co-ordinated approach across whole-of-government. \xe2\x80\xa2 Executing outreach strategies to establish and maintain relationships within the government as well as with foreign counterparts to promote a co-ordinated approach towards treaty-making. \xe2\x80\xa2 Providing information on the procedures, form and modalities for treaty signing. \xe2\x80\xa2 Assisting with the drafting and vetting of treaties and related legal instruments. \xe2\x80\xa2 Assisting with the preparation of the signing copies of treaties, instrument of full powers and the consolidation of related treaty documents. \xe2\x80\xa2 Monitoring of the status of treaties, e.g. when treaties are entered into force, terminated or are due for renewal. \xe2\x80\xa2 Maintaining a precedent advice database to assist with the preparation of draft advice on treaty procedures and processes. \xe2\x80\xa2 Assisting in the design, development and regular review of a Treaty Handbook as guidance material for the Whole-of-Government. \xe2\x80\xa2 Assisting with legal research work where appropriate. \xe2\x80\xa2 Assisting with the periodic review and enhancement to the Centralised Online Repository for Treaties (CORT), Clause and Document Extraction Tool (CADET), and other databases as needed. \xe2\x80\xa2 Assisting with the implementation and maintenance of online KM tools on treaties. \xe2\x80\xa2 Assisting with the maintenance of KM resource on the Law of Treaties. \xe2\x80\xa2 Taking charge of organising various initiatives, projects or events handled by IAD and AGC. \xe2\x80\xa2 Drafting of administrative papers, minutes, reports and correspondences. \xe2\x80\xa2 Monitoring of budget and statistics for reporting purposes. \xe2\x80\xa2 Coordinating various administrative and operational matters relating to the work of the Treaties Section.What we are looking for:
