We're seeking a Deputy project manager with similar values, who can put his or her expertise to work on New Chemical Project Construction site in Jurong Island. This professional will be responsible for serving as the representative at each worksite in dealings with subcontractors, suppliers, customers, and government inspectors. He or she will be expected to ensure compliance with all procedures, regulations, and codes, and present progress updates to appropriate management channels on a regular basis. With each project, this individual is counted on to drive the innovation we're known for. Objectives of this Role Build and develop project team to ensure maximum performance, providing purpose, direction, and motivation Support Project manager in daily work Lead projects from requirements definition through deployment, identifying schedules, scopes, budget estimations, and project implementation plans, including risk mitigation To coordinate internal and external resources, ensuring projects remain within scope, schedule, and defined budgets, in collaboration with project management team at Construction site in Jurong Island, HQ in Japan and Japanese client. Analyze project progress and, when necessary, adapt scope, timelines, and costs to ensure that project team adheres to project requirements Establish and maintain relationships with appropriate client stakeholders, providing day-to-day contact on project status and changes Establish and maintain processes to manage scope over the project lifecycle, setting project quality and performance standards, and assessing and managing risk within, and across, multiple projects Structure and manage integrated, multi-track project performance databases for multiple digital, print, social, broadcast, and experiential projects, with an eye on overall progress Develop and maintain partnerships with outside resources-including third party vendors, consultants, subcontractors, licensors, and researchers Monitor and assign resources appropriately to streamline project efficiency and maximize deliverable outputs Report project outcomes and/or risks to the HQ management in Japan. Skills and Qualifications Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field Minimum 10+ years' experience in management of EPC projects Knowledge of Chemical, Mechanical, Electrical, Instrumentation, Civil, Structure Technologies, and ability to interpret technical drawings and contracts Knowledge of various technical code requirements and scheduling methods Experience in Oil & Gas, refining or petrochemical plant Superior communication and presentation skills, both written and verbal in English Must have the ability to deal effectively with a wide variety of industry, government, and public contracts on project-related maters Knowledge of jobsite safety practices required Preferred Qualifications Fluent or solid working knowledge of Japanese (The client is Japanese firm) Working knowledge of green building practices
