Job Description

Key Responsibilities, Duties & Accountabilities:

• Responsible for performing engineering activities as defined in procedures and work instructions. Duties shall include performing hand or computer assisted calculations, approval of DVR packages, review and approval of engineering drawings, processing engineering design changes, and interfacing with other Dril-Quip departments.

• Shall be responsible for leading/chairing Engineering Design Reviews, facilitate the design review process (both regional and globally), and liaise with Aftermarket/Product Managers for the refinement and improvement to existing/new designs.

• Act as a technical leader and be responsible for leading a smaller, focused team of engineers and designers on multiple projects. Interaction and schedules including handover of new/modified designs.

• Able to serve as a delegate/deputy to the Engineering Manager or Section Leader at supervisor’s discretion.

• Routinely interacts with customers/ suppliers/vendors and lead technical discussions.

• Interfaces with manufacturing and service groups for refinement and improvements to existing and new designs.

• Attends project meetings and presents technical details and material at project meetings.

• Responsible for developmental testing, SIT/FAT testing, and working with support groups for creating running procedures.
  

• Has advanced and thorough understanding of applicable industry standards and recommended practices and is able to represent the organization at an external industry/trade body event. Possesses training and work permits as required for working offshore.

• Shall demonstrate leadership capability and ability to direct and mentor younger, less experienced engineering personnel.

• Shall demonstrate the ability to manage a small project from order receipt through to final installation.

• Understanding Dril-Quip core products, engineering procedures, and manufacturing capabilities as well as completed all accomplishments as required by the preceding engineering position

• Participated in customer and detailed technical design reviews. SIT/FAT procedures, vendor product specifications, and service running procedures.

• Worked in a lead engineer role with a team of engineers/designers for a product or project.
