Responsibilities

Study, research and develop ideas for new products related to Large Calibre Weapon System, as well as modify or upgrade existing products either to improve performance or address obsolescence. Delivered product must take into consideration of performance, safety, cost, and maintenability, which requires the Design Engineer to work with other stakeholders within the organisation. Designer Engineers will use Computer Aided Design software to create modelling and assembly, as well as drafting of drawings. Typical tasks include:

• Study of requirement or task prior to commencement of design
• Present design concepts for design review and discussion
• Design need to be assessed based on performance, safety, manufacturability, reliability and maintainability
• Support design using clearly presented calculation or Finite Element Analysis to derive safety factor
• Prepare design records and test plan for submission
• Support test and analyze data from tests on prototypes
• Review design performance and propose modification to optimize designs
• Perform and execute engineering change process for amendment of technical drawings and Bill of Material
• Perform Fault Tree Analysis to present problem and solution
• Clearly present design slides to stakeholders (Management, Customer, design team)
• Perform feasibility study for integration of weapon system onto various platforms

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering
• 2-4 years experience in handling project related to mechanical design, with knowledge in mechanism design and actuator selections.
• Knowledge in Computer-Aided Design software, e.g. Unigraphics, Pro-Engineer
• Having experience in mechatronics design will be an added advantage
• Able to provide clear analysis to substantiate design.
• Willing to travel overseas
• Working location at Boon Lay (near MRT station)
• Singaporeans only
