About the Role Efficient and effective management of design activities for the permanent and temporary works on the project to ensure that the design requirements of the contract are fulfilled. Compliance with legal and other requirements, including standards and codes of practice, relating to the design. Completion of design activities within budget and program to achieve project objectives and targets. Ensure risk reduction controls are in place for design activities. Implementing pertinent requirements of the Project Execution Plan (PEP) including referenced procedures. Management of in-house design coordination team. Ensure design process and submissions comply with Singapore regulations and requirements. Management of the design consultant(s) in accordance with procedure Project Design Plan. Ensuring that design activities are undertaken by suitably qualified and experienced personnel. Provide input to risk register. Monitoring design progress and taking corrective action to maintain program when necessary. Maintaining effective interfaces between all parties to the design process. . Ensuring that design deliverables are subject to effective internal review prior to submission to the client and other external parties. Maintaining an effective design change management system. Guide review approves all Technical Quiries. Ensuring that temporary/permanent works designs are verified prior to issue for construction. Work with engineering and construction staff to develop appropriate construction methods, construction execution procedures and inspection & test plans that are consistent with achieving the design intent.. Timely issue of `approved for construction drawings and technical documentation to ensure that procurement, construction and commissioning activities can proceed unhindered. Compliance with the Safety and Environmental Responsibilities. About You Degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline. 10 to 15 years of design engineering experience in civil construction projects is a must. Experience in large scale viaduct project is an added advantage.
