Job Description


FHI 360 is seeking applications for the position of Digital and Marketing Specialist for the Meeting Targets and Maintaining Epidemic Control (EpiC) project in the Philippines. EpiC is a five-year global project funded by the U.S. President’s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR) and the U.S. Agency for International Development USAID) and is now on its second year of implementation. The project provides strategic technical assistance (TA) and direct service delivery to break through barriers to 95-95-95 goal of the country and promote self-reliant management of national HIV programs by improving HIV case-finding, prevention, treatment programming and viral load (VL) suppression among key populations (KPs) and priority populations (PPs).
In the Philippines, EpiC works in Mega Manila to address critical gaps and bottlenecks in the response to HIV among key populations (KPs) in the Philippines and build capacity of local, community based KP organizations and work closely with the government of the Philippines to deliver HIV services tailored to the needs of KPs. In addition to the activities mentioned above EpiC Philippines will focus on expanding HIV case finding in the community, expansion of PrEP and treatment initiation, adherence, and retention support for people living with HIV (PLHIV), with a focus on select key population groups.
JOB SUMMARY
The Digital and Marketing Specialist will report to the Technical Advisor for SBCC. S/he works to support the EpiC Team in providing technical assistance to the project partners and the project in designing and developing campaigns and tools that will help increase the uptake of HIV services in the coverage areas. The specialist will also collaborate with the Technical, Strategic Information and Program Sub-Teams to ensure proper knowledge management and institutional communications of project outputs and results.
Knowledge and experience of media planning for Facebook, Instagram, Google ads, in-app advertising, and website development is required. Prior experience of working in advertising is an asset. Social media group formation and admin experience is a big plus. Writing for webinars, web blogs, social media, viral campaigns, and infographic animation videos will be part of the deliverables so rich experience on them is desired. Familiarity with Google Analytics, Adobe Suite, Tableau or similar trade tools is preferred. Social sector exposure will be very useful but is not mandatory.
The Digital and Marketing Specialist will push the boundaries of traditional communication. S/he will bring innovative ideas that have the potential to go viral; leverage skills to plan and execute them; and assess and strengthen successful approaches for scale-up. Ability in website and mobile app development, and their user testing will be useful, but most important is self-motivation and vision to nurture ideas that can save lives.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Assist in program strategy and design, its digital adaptation, social media outreach, planning, monitoring and evaluation.

  • Lead together with the SBCC Team and the Technical Team the digital adaptation of learning modules and training activities on HIV service delivery and related capacity building initiatives.

  • Develop, pre-test, and produce digital communication tools and e-job aids based on evidence-based theories and methodologies, in line with the SBCC strategy. Produce and/or manage regular content calendars to ensure timely refreshing of project-related social media content and activities, in line with said SBCC strategy.

  • Monitor social engagement and track conversion across project-supported platforms to test and iteratively improve online communications and client recruitment strategies.

  • Assist in coordinating with EpiC subgrantees, research firms, advertising agencies, public relations experts, production vendors, community mobilizers, and/or consultants hired by the project on creative milestones and outputs.

  • Assist in supervising local contracts and monitoring of ongoing function and technical troubleshooting for integral services, such as mass media programming.

  • Guide the design and execution of patient-friendly website, information dashboard, knowledge portal and e-newsletter. Manage and monitor it as administrator.

  • Train government partners to generate demand for QuickRes and other Going Online (Online HIV work) interventions of the project.

  • Provide technical support, together with the SBCC Technical Advisor, to the project partners on social media outreach and other marketing and behavior change needs.

  • Work with the M&E staff to monitor and evaluate the progress and impact of SBCC activities. Introduce innovative models for measuring/attributing social media demand generation and audience engagement toward project goals.

  • Document project results and impacts in various forms, including media stories, lessons learned, case studies, client satisfaction, and other area that contribute to quarterly and annual reporting.

  • Perform other duties as directed by the SBCC Technical Advisor.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • Ability to design visual content for digital social media campaigns, websites and mobile apps.

  • Write campaign copy, website content, scripts, creative materials, and project documents.

  • Prior work experience in USAID funded programs with disease prevention and control portfolio preferred; HIV/KP-focused programs a plus.

  • Must be able to thrive in a diverse, fast-paced collaborative studio environment and have superb time management skills

  • Works on problems that are diverse in scope and require judgment in resolving or making recommendations for solutions

  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and as a team member

  • Excellent English and Filipino oral and written communication skills.

  • Articulate, professional, and able to communicate in a clear, positive manner.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

  • BS/BA (Mass Communication, Marketing, Advertising, Public Relations, Development Communications, Public health, or related field)

  • 5-8 years of private-public sector communications experience in the Philippines.

  • At least 2-3 years’ direct experience in social media campaign planning and digital platforms and advertising.

  • Experience of working with government institutions is desirable

WORKING CONDITIONS AND TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Usual office working conditions.

  • Ability to travel domestically at least 25%.
