About you

  • Strong experience and knowledge in carrying out modelling and visual programming in Rhino and Grasshopper environment.
  • Experienced in working with cloud computing assets and workflow.
  • Able to visualize data and information in infographics, preferably with ParaView and PowerBI.
  • Experienced in Python programming and big data analysis.
  • Strong presentation and communication skills, with proven experience in reasoning and presenting a convincing argument.
  • Significant experience with performance analytical models and methodologies.
  • Experience in Mechanical ACMV design will be advantageous.
  • Adaptable, with a methodical and problem-solving mind.
  • Have a keen interest and enthusiasm for sustainability.
  • Be a versatile and quick thinker.
  • Show willingness and ability to pick up new concepts quickly.

Required qualifications:
  • Bachelor\'s degree in architectural, Engineering, Sciences and or related field
  • At least 3 years\' experience in visual programming in Grasshopper and scripting.

The opportunity

Our Built Environment sector is looking for a Digital Designer in our Kuala Lumpur office. This role will fulfil a key role to support our well-established team delivering building projects across the region and in Singapore for computational design support across structural, mechanical, and engineering sciences.

You will work in a professional international consultancy, working closely with our multidisciplinary engineers and consultant teams. We have excellent career development programs and training opportunities.

You will be developing internal analysis and computation design tool using open-source software, scripting tools and Microsoft Azure cloud computing infrastructure. You will be supporting a growing number of projects and liaising directly with design teams and construction teams.

Your responsibilities will include:
  • Computational and parametric design for structural and mechanical engineering, working in 3D modelling and visual programming platform.
  • Leveraging on Mott MacDonald\'s Moata digital platform to create in-house dashboard, visualization and design tools.
  • Parametric modelling and analysis for building physics such as energy modelling, thermal comfort, daylight and glare, and CFD and microclimate in a Grasshopper environment.
  • Technical development of in-house methodologies for computational design to improve efficiency and productivity working with the team leadership.
  • Development of in-house bespoke script and analysis tool to support project delivery working with the team leaderships
  • Management of internal design databases for current and future projects.
  • Working collaboratively with engineers and consultants from other teams, sectors and offices in delivering low-carbon solutions.
  • Support and cultivate digital delivery and analysis within the office.
  • Produce high quality technical reports.
