The Role Responsibilities
The Trust & Resilience (TR) organisation adopts a high-performing and accountable culture that is focused on faster decision making and doing what's best for the client. The TR organisation includes the following: Controls, Cyber Security Services, Information Cyber Security Transformation Portfolio, Third Party Security Risk & Resilience. The COO TR Control Governance & Standards team is responsible for running senior level governance committees and providing risk reporting / insights to senior level stakeholders and key forums such as the SC Board, Non-Finance Risk Committees as well as External Regulators (FCA & PRA). It is central to ensuring the Bank’s ability to meet its commitments to internal and external stakeholders. We are now looking for a high energy business intelligence & analytics lead to join our team. You will lead a new capability being established to solve challenging business problems across the organisation. The role requires good people management, stakeholder and project management skills in addition to outstanding technical ability in MicroStrategy, Tableau and PowerBI. Business Intelligence & Analytics Development
  • Design and develop MicroStrategy, Tableau & Microsoft Power BI applications utilizing best practices
  • Develop data models/solutions to solve practical problems based on advanced statistical modeling, data mining, and machine learning methods.
  • Identify customer needs and work collaboratively to determine business requirements
  • Manage work through timelines and milestones
  • Liaise with the end-user and technical solution team to implement solutions that align with the organization's business objectives
  • Critical examination of requirements and understanding operations and systems
  • Manage the technical delivery within timeline and with quality
  • Manage change request and defect with release control.
Risk Management
  • Continuously improve the operational efficiency and effectiveness of risk & control oversight & reporting processes through business intelligence & analytics.
  • Work with other risk & control teams to drive efficiency, effectiveness and reduce duplication.
People and Talent
  • Provide proactive self-orienting and self-motivating leadership, and work with limited direction.
  • Lead through example and build the appropriate culture and values. Set appropriate tone and expectations, and work in collaboration with risk and control partners.
  • Contribute to problem solving skills, such as utilising A3s within projects by supporting development initiatives.
  • Stay connected with broader TDR team’s people agenda and development approaches.
Strategy
  • Partnering with Senior Management/ Stakeholders from Business Group to provide deep expertise and advisory on data and analytics needs.
  • Work closely with the Head of Control to delivery key strategic initiatives. This could be either by direct involvement / delivery of initiatives or supporting the team with specific assignments.
  • Drive and lead new capabilities in the area of Big Data, Strategic Analytics and Advanced Self Service Business Intelligence across the Banking group.
  • Discover intrinsic natures of users from big data, and analyze user behavior as well as their customized needs to develop new data attributes of users from existing data source and develop novel applications including data driven products based on that.

Our Ideal Candidate
  • Degree holder with 10 and more years of experience with MIS, Data Management and/or Analytics
  • Experience in taking lead to implement BI applications or data analytics projects
  • Retail Banking, Marketing and Product data and analytical knowledge highly desirable.
  • Track record and In-depth knowledge of Business Intelligence and Big Data platforms.
