Team: In Singapore, ESG Hub has the mission of driving large-scale economic transformation in Singapore and the region associated with the green transition. Built on strong connectivity within local and regional markets, as well as with KPMG's Global and Regional ESG Centres of Excellence, the ESG Hub houses highly technical ESG competencies and brings together best practices, all of which are directed to the co-creation of shared value with our business partners and clients. Within the ESG Hub, the decarbonisation and net zero professionals will take responsibility for defining KPMG's overall message on decarbonisation and net zero, driving a consistent global point of view across thought leadership papers, external marketing campaigns and communications to enhance KPMG's reputation as a climate services leader. The decarbonisation and net zero team will also support functional professionals across audit, tax and advisory with proposals in this area through the bid stage and through delivery, helping member firms to drive pursuit execution, form a strategic response and pitch for our largest and most important opportunities globally, followed by delivery support where required. Job Requirements: Cooperate with other Global and Regional ESG centres of Excellence as well as our pillars across KPMG IMPACT to ensure we have integrated and end-to-end offerings. Interact and support our key priority accounts in relation to decarbonisation and net zero, building strong and meaningful relationships with Lead Partners, client service teams and clients directly. Support and contribute to KPMG's growth plans by working with sectors and functions to build detailed and relevant narratives, which will equip partners and colleagues in initiating conversations related to decarbonisation and net zero with clients. Originate carbon markets opportunities and engagements, leading business development initiatives including targeting key C Suite level individuals, proposing KPMG's services and closing opportunities Oversee and support the delivery of climate markets engagements through providing expertise on the areas related to technical and quality standards of carbon credits in the context of strategy and international policy, appropriate use of carbon credits (including NBS, renewables, no n carbon asset classes etc), new credit types (e.g. scientific backing, verification technology, credit methodology, price discovery & financing, carbon neutrality certification ), as well as product viability and pricing (roadmap, strategy, prioritization, budget & scalability, helping functional teams delivery support where required, including technical reviews. Lead stakeholder engagements and strategy on evolving international policy (e.g. science based targets, acceptance of credits) Build and manage the Singapore carbon markets team, creating a community of knowledge sharing across accounts and functions for this specialist area. Preferred Qualifications: Deep understanding of carbon and environmental markets and carbon policy developments, nature-based solutions, as well as climate challenge and drivers for decarbonization University degree, ideally at a Master level or higher, in Environmental Sciences, Mathematics or Engineering, Environmental Sciences, Natural Science, Geography, Finance, Economics or Actuarial. Minimum 10 years of experience working covering topics associated with climate change, decarbonization and carbon markets Experience working at a global or regional level within a global professional service organization or standards or registry or a VVB is a plus is advantageous Deep knowledge and awareness of current market trends, activities, and key players Proven delivery and contribution of thought leadership with an external voice in the marketplace Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build relationships with a range of different stakeholders Passionate about the climate change agenda An Ideal Candidate: You demonstrate independence, innovative and resourceful thinking and strong relationship building, organisational and presentation skills. You feel confident managing stakeholders (external clients & global counterparts) in ambiguous situations with shifting priorities. You have a naturally inquisitive mind with an ability to think 'outside the box'. You are comfortable with ambiguity, fluid consulting situations and a highly pressured environment. You are keen to build a strong generational practice of impact consultants and a make a significant difference to the society as part of the KPMG team.
