AstraZeneca, one of the world\xe2\x80\x99s leading healthcare company, is recruiting for a Director, Corporate Communications, International to take forward AstraZeneca\xe2\x80\x99s corporate communications strategy in the International region (Asia-Pacific, Middle East and Africa, and Latin America). This critical role will be responsible for proactively shaping and telling the AstraZeneca story across international markets, positioning AstraZeneca as a healthcare leader and partner of choice in addressing the world\xe2\x80\x99s most serious public health issues.
Reporting to the Senior Director, International Communications, the role with be based in one of the company\xe2\x80\x99s regional hubs and work as part of a cross-functional team and in partnership with priority markets and global functions. Key responsibilities:
Develop and execute a corporate communications strategy to advance and protect AstraZeneca\xe2\x80\x99s reputation across International markets, building and maintaining a positive corporate brand image
Drive the development and refresh of the International corporate narrative and messaging, and support the markets with the information, knowledge and tools to bring this narrative to life across key stakeholder groups
Establish the strategic annual communications plan for key international senior leaders, working with and developing them as spokespeople and advocates
Develop and place thought leadership to influence healthcare system transformation
Manage a suite of communications collaterals and tools such as corporate materials, editorial calendars, and milestones calendars
Ensure International markets uphold corporate brand standards and guidelines
Proactively identify and manage potential issues and develop issues management strategies
Support the roll-out and implementation of key global initiatives
Develop and manage a measurement framework and tools to bring consistency to our reporting across multiple markets and the International region
Oversee reputation research and leverage insights to shape programming
Develop and implement strategies for uplifting and diversifying the communication capabilities across the International region
Lead the International digital communications strategy, working with markets to uplift capabilities
Manage programmes, agencies, budgets and timelines for key projects
Qualifications and skills
University degree required, preferably in journalism/communications, marketing, science or business
Extensive experience in a similar role at corporate or in the public sector, with market experience; agency experience a plus
Experience in the pharmaceutical industry including an understanding of the pharmaceutical healthcare industry in Asia Pacific, Middle East and Africa and Latin America is preferred
Experience working in a dynamic and matrix environment and an ability to think with a global and regional mindset
Strong content development skills, including excellent English writing skills
Ability to work and collaborate effectively with people from all backgrounds and cultures
Solution orientated, decisive by nature and resourceful in the approach. Able to manage complexity, multiple priorities, and programmes at the same time
Demonstrable ability to drive programmes/initiatives and influence business leaders and external stakeholders and move an agenda forward to resolution and action
Deep understanding and experience with digital and social platforms including LinkedIn and Workplace
Strong experience in leading management of reputational risks, issues, and crisis, ensuring business preparedness
Demonstrable experience leading on reporting, measurement and evaluation of a PR/Communications team
Experience in managing budgets and schedules
Possess a high degree of integrity, professional maturity and sense of confidentiality
Ability to develop and maintain strong internal and external relationships at all levels
