Job Description


JOB SUMMARY

The role holder will:

  • Drive the business impact assessment for Basel 3.1 implementation for CPBB. To work closely with CPBB stakeholders in finance, business and risk to support the impact assessment across CPBB Products and Segments with a key focus on identifying issues and supporting the business in optimising RWA outcomes
  • Engage with the QIS (\xe2\x80\x9cQuantitative Impact Studies\xe2\x80\x9d) team to continuously review CPBB models built for business impact assessment and propose appropriate refinements to capture regulatory interpretations
  • Regularly review the results of the QIS estimates for CPBB and drive effective resolution of gaps
  • Support CPBB Risk and Finance teams to drive clarity of Basel 3.1 changes across the product suite and lead the effort to socialise business impacts in an efficient and timely manner
  • Engage the wider Basel Programme team to highlight and draw attention to key areas for CPBB as well as raise issues for effective resolution
  • Continuously work to embed regulatory clarifications and track key items requiring clarity of regulatory interpretation as per PRA guidelines
  • Connect with Treasury & Capital & Regulatory reporting teams to ensure consistent measurement of CPBB Basel 3.1 estimates and single view of Basel 3.1 estimates are reflected across forums
  • Work closely with GCFO Change and FRTB Programmes on implementation activities required to support business impacts optimisation and mitigation, output floor implementation and data sourcing consistency for Group and Countries.
RESPONSIBILITIES

Risk
  • Support CPBB Risk team with scenario analysis of key regulatory interpretation areas
  • Log and track regulatory items for effective closure
Business
  • Strong communication skills and ability to provide updates on progress to a variety of stakeholders
  • Analytical capabilities to provide insight into potential solutions for output floor allocation
  • Ability to explain complex issues and suggest solutions to senior management
  • Proactive and collaborative, able to strive to find acceptable solutions and facilitate discussion amongst stakeholders to provide a good outcome
  • Good understanding of expectations from Regulators as well as our internal business functions model requirements
  • Awareness and understanding of the wider business, economic and market environment in which the Group operates
Processes
  • Good understanding of business analysis techniques and the ability to oversee multiple deliverables at one time
  • Adherence to all relevant governance standards and WoW (Ways of Working)
Risk Management
  • Ensure that Project risks are accurately captured and tracked with mitigation plans identified
Strategy
  • Good understanding of the Bank\xe2\x80\x99s vision and strategy appropriate to the role
  • Good understanding of the finance function and organizational structure and the target operating model
  • Thorough understanding of the Bank Project Management framework and the key focus areas
Business
  • Awareness and understanding of the wider business, economic and market environment in which the Group operates
  • Experience of working within Regulatory projects ideally in relation to Capital and Basel regulations
Processes
  • Good understanding of business analysis techniques and the ability to oversee multiple deliverables at one time
  • Adherence to all relevant governance standards and WoW (Ways of Working)
  • Identifying, defining, developing, and implementing improvements to Portfolio reporting, business impact reviews
  • Identify and deliver actions to improve the quality of identified regulatory issues and escalate for resolution
  • Support Portfolio and executive reporting needs with quality Steerco/other meetings materials / deliverables
  • Stakeholder Management - establish working relationships with key stakeholder across the portfolio
  • Ensure that projects are in compliance with checks and controls around the Go Live Milestones
  • Identify, lead and on time delivery of Initiatives to standardize and simplify processes
  • Production of accurate and quality materials for Steerco and other meetings materials and deliverables
  • Proficient in MS Office /Confluence/ Jira/ Clarity
  • Ability to communicate effectively and comfortably with different levels of seniority across the organisation

  • Take personal responsibility for understanding the risk and compliance requirements of my role. Understand and comply with applicable laws and regulations, the Groups policies, procedures and the Group Code of Conduct.
  • Effectively identify, escalate, mitigate and resolve risk and compliance matters. Contribute to a culture in which all stakeholders feel safe to raise concerns and where risk and compliance matters are addressed, and misconduct appropriately dealt with.
Governance
  • Support all PMO related governance activities for the programme and ensure adherence with all governance related policies and standards.
Regulatory & Business Conduct

  • 8+ Years of experience in regulatory reporting in credit Risk
  • Analytical and Problem Solving
  • Excellent Written & Spoken Business Communication
  • Adept at accurately summarizing, categorising, spotting trends in numbers
  • High levels of personal accountability and proactive initiative taking, together with a pragmatic, customer-focused approach
  • Outcome focused with excellent problem-solving abilities whilst exercising good judgement
