Yara Africa & Asia (YAA) produces, sells, distributes and markets fertilizers and industrial products across Asia Pacific and Africa regions, with offices location and operational units in 20 countries. The region employs over 1800 employees and has a long history in the Asian Pacific and African markets, focusing on develop crop nutrition concepts that increase food production and create value to the growers, in particular smallholder farmers, whilst minimizing environmental impact of agricultural activities.

YAA is currently undergoing a major transformation, aimed at shifting the existing business models, generating new revenue streams and ultimately delivering profit through new Farming Solutions related activities.

Responsibilities

To drive the use of data and build up data-driven decision-making within the organization, responsible for overseeing the data management and analytics functions, ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and accessibility of data assets. Using expertise in data strategy, analysis, and leadership to drive cross-functional teams in leveraging data to achieve business objectives.

1. Data Strategy Development:

• Develop and implement a comprehensive data strategy aligned with the organization\'s business goals.
• Define data governance policies, standards, and procedures to maintain data quality and compliance.

2. Data Management:

• Oversee data collection, storage, and integration processes.
• Collaborate with IT teams to maintain and optimize data infrastructure, including data-bases, data warehouses, and ETL pipelines.

3. Data Analysis:

• Lead a team of data analysts to extract actionable insights from large datasets.
• Develop and execute advanced analytics and modeling techniques to support decision-making.

4. Business Intelligence:

• Create and maintain dashboards and reports to provide real-time insights to stakeholders.
• Ensure data visualization tools are effectively utilized for data storytelling.

5. Data Governance and Compliance:

• Ensure data security and compliance with relevant regulations (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA).
• Establish data access controls and monitor data usage.

6. Team Leadership:

• Mentor and develop a high-performing team of data professionals.
• Foster a collaborative and innovative data culture within the organization.

7. Stakeholder Collaboration:

• Work closely with business units to understand their data needs and align data initiatives with their objectives.
• Communicate data insights to non-technical stakeholders in a clear and actionable manner.

Profile

• Bachelor\'s or Master\'s degree in Data Science, Business Analytics, or a related field.
• Proven experience (typically 8+ years) in data management, analytics, and leadership roles.
• Hands-on experience in quantifying user journeys, translate insights with data and analysis
• Strong knowledge of data tools and technologies (e.g., SQL, Python, data visualization tools, big data platforms).
• Excellent problem-solving, communication, and project management skills.
• Ability to lead and inspire cross-functional teams.
• Experienced with stakeholder management
• Experienced with industry and business reporting and analysis
