Role Responsibilities

Senior Manager, Deposit Mortgage and Sustainable Finance would Manage financials performance of Deposit, Mortgage products and Sustainable Finance. Scope will be CPBB business across all markets globally. This will include providing advisory to relevant stakeholders to improve business performance and to achieve agreed goals and targets.

Strategy
Senior Manager, Deposit Mortgage and Sustainable Finance should have thorough awareness and understanding of the CPBB business strategy and be able to apply this to Deposit/ Mortgage and Sustainable Finance business context.
This includes
  • Partnering in implementation of product strategy by working closely with leadership team eg Global, regional and country head of deposit and mortgage products.
  • Partnering with Group & CPBB Sustainable finance teams and product teams to implement and track netzero and sustainability targets set for CPBB by developing capabilities to track and report CPBB sustainable finance product financial performance and track CPBB financed emissions against targets and support in developing new sustainable finance products to clients.
Business Planning and Analysis
  • Advice Global Head of Deposit and Mortgage on financial performance, profitability, returns and highlighting areas of opportunity and early warnings of the challenges ahead.
  • Partner with product heads to execute strategy, track financial and non-financial performance and momentum regularly.
  • Keep a track on interest environment and develop scenarios of interest rate movement and impact on income and balance sheet of Deposit/ Mortgage products to aid short and medium-term decision making.
  • Develop and implement financial and non-financial value drivers and regular measurement / analytics to identify product margin, returns, momentum in new sales, clients etc.
  • Conduct client segment and product deep dives to identify opportunities to improve income and returns, utilise these insights to formulate new strategies with product partners.
  • Lead Deposit, Mortgage and SF Corporate Plan aligned with strategic direction across all markets.
  • Partner with business and finance teams in markets to evaluate financial performance (profitability, returns), execute plans to improve market share, tactical and strategic decisions to increase profitability including pricing decisions and new product launches.
  • Contribute to performance reporting and analysis for CPBB Management Business Review (MBR).
  • Periodically review SCB performance with competitors and analyse relative strength and opportunity.
  • Partner with CPBB SF head in development and implementation of SF strategy.
  • Participate in CPBB Sustainable Finance effort in baselining and reporting emissions and liaise with CPBB SF leads, Group NZ team and Group finance team for appropriate internal and external reporting of targets and actuals.
Processes
Oversee following processes
  • Review of flash, outlook, forecasting and actuals of Deposit and Mortgage product financials in coordination with regional and market finance and product teams.
  • Smooth and efficient corporate plan internal finance processes specially forecasting alignment across region, country and GBS during planning cycle or regular outlook.
  • Coordinate non-financial indicators reporting related to balance sheet products.
  • Streamline sustainable Finance reporting process and develop automated solution for future reporting and digital distribution thereof.
People & Talent
  • Work effectively and collaboratively with finance colleagues with in CPBB group finance, country finance and offshore teams.
  • Good operational working relationship with CPBB balance sheet product teams in group and major markets.
Risk Management
  • Coordinate regular review with Risk and Product team on Mortgage and WM Lending portfolios to ensure appropriate risk-return pricing and capital deployment.
  • Review Risk Weighted Asset (RWA) performance vis-\xc3\xa0-vis balance sheet growth and product/ client returns for the Affluent segments.
  • Regular review, reporting and understanding of loan impairment related to lending portfolios and calculation approach/ policy thereon.
  • Ensure compliance with Group Accounting Principles and practices, Financial Control policy, and other regulatory accounting guidelines.
  • Understanding of various regulatory requirement (eg Basel III/IV) and implementation of the same appropriately by working with Product teams in group and markets.
Governance
  • Awareness and understanding of the regulatory framework in which the Group operates, and the regulatory requirements and expectations to the role.
  • Represent the Finance function at key CPBB Business forums and escalating any issues that may impact finance responsibilities.
  • Product governance \xe2\x80\x93 ensure financial reporting for existing and new products are in line with accounting principles.

Our Ideal Candidate
  • 9+ years relevant experience in business financial planning and analysis gained at a leading, global financial services firm, preferably banking.
  • Qualified Accountant i.e., CPA, CMA, ACCA or equivalent, or MBA (Finance) or other relevant post graduate qualification is preferred.
  • Track record of business partnering and ability to influence and effectively challenge stakeholders.
  • Strong understanding of Deposit, Mortgage and balance sheet products, specially in banking industry.
  • Proven problem solver using quantitative techniques, strong analytical skills with ability to develop proof of concept frameworks and business cases.
  • Excellent communication skills to effectively manage varied stakeholders and global teams within finance and business.
