The Role Responsibilities
Strategy

  • Work closely with the Head of Strategic Initiatives and Sustainable Finance Program Director to track and manage key projects aligned with the Sustainable Finance (SF) strategy.
Business
  • Support the development and implementation of strategic and operational initiatives related to key areas within SF.
  • Good understanding/interest of carbon policy developments, energy markets, broader sustainability issues, and likely future trends.
Processes
  • Project manage key initiatives coordinating stakeholders across COO, Product Teams, Risk, Legal and Compliance, Finance, and others
  • Provide oversight and guidance for BAU activities within SF and ESRM (including report validations, reporting)
  • Support the projects related to regulatory developments, digitisation across all ESG pillars.
  • Provide SME input to the development of dashboards and other improvement/efficiency related initiatives.
  • Knowledge of financial processing/accounting would be a benefit
People & Talent
  • Develop a strong working relationship with COO Functions, Front Office, Risk, Sustainability, Legal and Compliance, Finance and other key stakeholders on SF-ESRM Strategic Initiatives, Process and Governance.
Risk Management
  • Knowledge of tools, techniques, and strategies applied in financial risk management; the ability to quantify, qualify, and manage financial risk.
Governance
  • Develop robust governance structures to support Sustainable Finance business alignment with the relevant frameworks and budget.
Regulatory & Business Conduct
  • Display exemplary conduct and live by the Group\'s Values and Code of Conduct.
  • Take personal responsibility for embedding the highest standards of ethics, including regulatory and business conduct, across Standard Chartered Bank. This includes understanding and ensuring compliance with, in letter and spirit, all applicable laws, regulations, guidelines and the Group Code of Conduct.
  • Lead the SF function to achieve the outcomes set out in the Bank\'s Conduct Principles. Fair Outcomes for Clients, Effective Financial Markets, Financial Crime Compliance, The Right Environment.
  • Effectively and collaboratively identify, escalate, mitigate and resolve risk, conduct and compliance matters.
Key stakeholders
  • CCIB COO Functions, CCIB Frontline Sales, Climate Risk, Group Sustainability, Legal and Compliance, Finance Head of SF Strategic Initiatives, Head of ESRM
Other Responsibilities
  • Embed Here for good and Group\'s brand and values in Singapore/SF. Perform other responsibilities assigned under Group, Country, Business or Functional policies and procedures, Multiple functions (double hats).
Our Ideal Candidate
  • Strong stakeholder management and ability to operate in a global, complex, highly matrixed organization.
  • Communications & Presentation skills - Ability to create and deliver effective presentations and ability to craft strong value propositions to influence & manage cross-functional team towards desired outcome.
  • 7 + years experience in Banking & project management.
  • Knowledge of effective planning and project management techniques and ability to contribute to operational (short term), tactical and strategic planning in support of the overall business plan.
  • Knowledge of business process improvement tools and techniques and ability to understand, monitor, update, or enhance existing business or work processes.
  • Knowledge of and ability to read, interpret and draw accurate conclusions from financial and numerical material. Knowledge of and ability to use processes, tools, and techniques for exploring and evaluating alternative financial scenarios and results.
  • Excel proficiency, as well as strong data validation and analysis skills.
  • Good understanding of carbon policy developments, energy markets, broader sustainability issues, and likely future trends.
