Director, Emerging Technologies (Singapore)

The Emerging Technologies (ET) team invests in global disruptive deep-tech ventures and business platforms. The ET team leverages its deep understanding of science and technology, global reach, technology investment acumen, extended time horizon, collaborative DNA and new business development capabilities to seek, curate and build innovative and potential disruptive technology investment opportunities.

The person should have a strong sense of purpose, be able to concurrently lead and collaborate across different projects, possesses high learning agility and is well grounded in science. He or she should have some level of experience in R&D, technology commercialization and investments.

The person must have the maturity and skillsets to engage a variety of senior stakeholders and lead teams and projects.

Core functions/Responsibilities:

• Ideate and execute Emerging Technologies, ET type investment and venture strategies
• Develop technology foresighting capabilities of various emerging sand disruptive technologies
• Understand R&D, Technology, Engineering and Product Development on a first principle-basis
• Originate deep tech investment opportunities, joint ventures, and new platforms globally
• Lead, assess and synthesize investment opportunities, and negotiate and execute investment transactions.

• Analyze markets, technology, business model, go to market, competition and financials
• Negotiate and structure transaction, and execute relevant DD activities
• Possess the capability to conduct business development activities for new ventures and platforms
• Perform effective portfolio management activities such as post investments engagements

• Bachelor\'s/Master\'s in the science or engineering disciplines. PhD and/or MBA would be viewed favorably

• At least 10 years working experience product development, tech strategy, corporate business development roles in tech companies, research organizations, deep tech VCs/CVCs, consulting firms
• Ability multi-task and lead in a dynamic and complex operating environment
• High level of interpersonal skills, integrity, learning agility and self-awareness
• Collaborative, driven, curious, purposeful, and strong work ethics
