Job Purpose:

This position reports directly to the Regional Chief Financial Officer and has principal accountability for the management financial reporting policies and processes for the Asia Pacific and Japan (APJ) region. The FP&A director primary purpose is to perform the FP&A activities on APJ HQ level, including Finance systems development, and execution of initiatives important to the centralized FP&A Excellence Center and Reporting. This role will lead the process for preparing outlooks, forecasts, and executive presentation materials, routinely presenting to executive leadership across the region as well as the corporate executive team, including the global CEO & CFO.

Responsibiliti es:
  • Business Analytics & Reporting - Oversee all operational and financial reporting including partnering with the business to identify needs, develop automated dashboards, and managing security and access compliance. Leads the management reporting consolidation and analyzes APJ level reporting in support of regional & Corporate requirements. (20%)
  • Financial oversight - Leads timely management reporting consolidation and the reviews of the region performance against plan and its business operations financial status. Directs the preparation and analysis of budgets, preparing appropriate supporting documentation and justification, and providing insights on key performance indicators. Leads the preparation of the monthly financial reporting package preparing all materials and commentary for regional and corporate executive teams including the Regional President, Regional CFO, and the Global CEO & CFO. (40%)
  • Forecasting - Oversee the forecast, planning, and evaluation of the APJ business. Partner with the executive teams to identify financial gaps, risk to achieving plan, optimization areas, reallocate funds for strategic initiatives, and ensure we properly manage our operating expenses. Performs metric analysis of financial data from financial statements including cost analysis, cash flow, gross profit, OI, ROWC, and other measurements. (20%)
  • Financial Tools & Systems - Oversee the development, operation, and maintenance of all financial tools and systems across multiple ERP systems. Responsibilities include setting overall strategy, overseeing execution timeline, and partnering with the finance community to ensure we can report, plan, manage, and evaluate our business in an efficient and effective manner. (20%)

Knowledge, Skills and Experience:

  • University degree (Accounting/Finance) with fifteen plus years hands-on experience as a Senior Financial Manager. MBA and/or CPA preferred
  • Solid financial accounting, statement preparation and practical analytical skills. Prior experience in cash management forecasting and budgeting.
  • Strong written and verbal skills. Interpersonal skills must include solid presentation skills along with a demonstrated ability to deal effectively with diverse constituents, internal staff, senior leadership, board members, investors, outside public accounting, legal, bank and other professionals.
  • Possesses strong leadership skills with a willingness to lead, create new ideas, and be assertive.
  • Possesses strong organizational and time management skills, driving tasks to completion.
  • The ability to establish and maintain effective internal relationships, communicate and negotiate effectively, as well as analyze, interpret and summarize statistical data is needed.
  • The ability to exercise sound, independent judgment in resolving problems without established guidelines is strongly preferred.
  • Team player with strong interaction skills and the ability to identify, anticipate, respond to and meet business requirements at all levels. Very hands on, action-oriented self-starter with a high energy level and the ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
  • 8 years of progressive, responsible experience in a financial management environment
  • 3 years of management experience
  • Finance experience with marketing, supplier relationships, asset management, and/or Sales is preferred
  • Knowledge or experience with the distribution industry or other relevant industry experience
