As the Category Director, you will play a key role in Telenor\xe2\x80\x99s business transformation initiatives for Cloud and Network virtualization. The Cloud strategy will give Telenor Business Units with ability to digitally transform their business with the best infrastructure, platform, industry solutions and expertise. You will support, define, and implement the sourcing strategy for Cloud and Application virtualization across the Business Units, working in close collaboration with Telenor Group functions. Being part of the TPC Core & Network Cloud team you will be also responsible for end to end category management, identifying, and realizing cost saving initiatives that deliver real business value in the category across all of Telenor\xe2\x80\x99s Business Units as well as establish appropriate supplier relationship management for assigned suppliers. In addition, Telenor Procurement Company is a home for new focus area related to providing procurement services to 3rd parties. Other main tasks will be:

• Collaboration with other categories for interfaces to have a synergic category strategy.
• Translate strategy developed into objectives and priorities for the category

• Stakeholder Management in Telenor group functions and the business units.
• Develop Category Strategy in alignment with the stakeholders.
• Implementation of Category Strategy.
• Implement and drive changes to engage others to initiate and embrace change in order to build on current strengths, move business initiatives forward, and capitalize on new opportunities
• Lead and Support a team of Category Managers, Specialists and Procurement teams in business units to implement Category Strategy
• Foresee business risks related to role, highlighting to leadership and work towards mitigating risks in best manner
• Coach and guide the team in developing sourcing strategy, project execution and decision making with stakeholders
• Represent Network Core Category in relevant Network Area and TPC activities

• Contribute actively towards TPC KPIs and OPIs
• Ensure compliance to procurement policies and compliance
• Excellent communication and facilitation skills, track record of building relationships with senior stakeholders.
• Excellent problem-solving and project management skills.
• Ability to componentize complex problems, prioritizing the most impactful initiatives and driving disciplined execution.
• Ensure compliance with policies, processes and achieve targets. Evaluate and standardize contract requirements across Telenor Business Units;
• Govern weekly, monthly, and quarterly operational meetings, manage escalations, and continuously drive the organization towards our goals.
• Be accountable for the delivery of agreed savings and value-add targets
• Ensure the delivery of turnkey projects, equipment, and services across the category
• Manage and develop effective and beneficial supplier relationships

Profile
The ideal candidate should have experience from relevant role and be a professional eager to develop yourself within strategic sourcing. He/she should have an academic understanding of strategic sourcing and category management as well as spend analysis. The following personal characteristics will be critical to succeed in the role:

• Have strong business knowledge in telecommunications landscape
• Wide and in-depth knowledge of Network Core function, processes and operations

• Detailed understanding of Contractual concepts and clauses and be able to correlate the contractual obligations with performance of scope of work
• Thorough knowledge and experience of Core consisting models, cost drivers, interaction of cost drivers and a logical way of deriving the TCO
• Has been a thorough sourcing professional with sourcing mindset and still maintaining a focus on operations and stakeholder interests as well
• Excellent negotiations skills with flexibility in approach while sticking to basic negotiation principles
• Strong analytical skills and negotiation experience
• Communicate and interact effectively (verbal, presentation, facilitation & listening modes of communication) across organizational and cultural boundaries, internal and external on executive management level
• Has handled multi-country, multi-million dollar sourcing projects involving multiple stakeholders with conflicting interests
• Broad experience with common data processing tools, e.g. Excel or Tableau
• Result oriented, demonstrating excellent collaboration abilities
• Able to work with a high degree of execution power and passion
• High level of integrity and ethics
• Strong ability to communicate and interact effectively across organizational and cultural boundaries, internal and external

Qualification And Experience Requirements

• Degree from any recognised University or recognised establishment (Business, Finance, Engineering, or accounting will be beneficial)
• Minimum 8 years in a procurement / contract management / vendor management role
• Relevant experience in cloud, applications and telecommunications is advantageous
