Job Description


Job Responsibilities: Responsible for promoting a range of MUFG products and services to customers. The individual will also be assessing the customers and industries risk, to support the team in structuring complex deals to mitigate risk to the Bank as well as reviewing all credit applications for deals within the team to ensure pricing, product offerings and the structuring of the deal is aligned to business strategy.

Strategic Lead the promotion of products to customers and identify and promote cross selling opportunities Financial

  • Manage the delivery of relevant banking services to customers, in own coverage area to meet the department's revenue targets.
Customer
  • Build and maintain effective relationships with customers and understand their needs in order to provide a high quality of service.
  • Anticipate as well as be sensitive to shifting customer expectations and provide recommendations to the wider department on appropriate measures to ensure the Bank stays ahead of competitors.
  • Develop and maintain strong stakeholder management with key stakeholders both within MUFG and externally.
  • Work in partnership with Compliance to consult on compliance issues, including but not limited Know Your Customer and Sanctions.
  • Work in partnership with Credit on any credit issues associated with deals.
  • Work in partnership with Head Office to understand customers and business to ensure that appropriate advice is provided and meets the requirements of customers transactions to the customer.
  • Visit customers when required, to represent the business to resolve issues and maintain the customer’s relationship
People
  • Support, coach and guide team on complex corporate banking issues.
Other/ Control
  • Review deal proposals and credit applications to ensure pricing, product offerings and the structuring of the deal is aligned to business strategy, delivers a high quality of service to customers and mitigates risk to the Bank.
  • Structure complex financial solutions that will deliver a high quality of service to customers and mitigates risk for the Bank.
  • Regularly report the performance of the team against set targets and future pipeline of deals.
  • Support the team in difficult negotiations with customers including but not limited to contract terms and conditions and pricing, as well as seek commercial solutions to finalise the deal.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and limits.
  • Support departmental initiatives to deliver increase revenue opportunities and deliver a high quality of service to customers.
  • Maintain good working knowledge of industry trends, products, relevant laws and regulations.
  • To advise on investment products concerning OTC derivatives contracts (includes FX Forwards) under Financial Advisers Act (FAA) and To Deal in investment products concerning OTC derivatives contracts (includes FX Forwards) under Securities and Futures Act (SFA)
  • To handle Embedded loans
  • To manage direct relationships and interactions with the Bank’s Japanese corporation customers in Singapore.
  • To work in close partnership with various departments in Singapore office including but not limited to product offices, credit, risk and operations; delivering the best financial services to our customers.
Job Requirements:
  • Minimum 11 years of Japanese corporate sales experience within the Japanese banking industry
  • Proficient in written and spoken Japanese language, to manage direct relationships and interactions with the Bank’s Japanese corporate customers in Singapore.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in leading a team
  • To have strong MUFG business knowledge and understanding of various banking services as a requisite to provide professional advisory to customers on financial solutions and deal proposals.
  • To have deep knowledge and understanding of Japanese corporate culture, local regulations and business trends in Asia to effectively respond to customers’ needs and business opportunities.
  • Good understanding of Japanese Corporate Banking Business
  • MUFG adopts a “Subsidiary Banking Business Model” where the Bank extends a long-term relationship to Japanese corporate customers with headquarters in Japan and to their subsidiaries all over the world. In this regard, the incumbent who takes on management responsibilities needs to have an extensive relationship management banking experience in Japan to effectively lead and promote the Bank’s business operations model in Asia region.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to influence others and sell products to Japanese corporations
  • Strong stakeholder management skills to collaborate with other departments
  • In-depth knowledge of MUFG’s organizations, products and services
  • Good understanding of local laws and regulations as well as international and Japanese ones
  • Well organized and efficient time management with integrity
  • Degree qualified
