Job Description


The Role Responsibilities

  • CCIB is required to maintain the Operational Resilience of the most important and critical business services for our clients to a pre-agreed tolerance. This includes maintaining service through external events such as natural disasters, market failure, change incidents, external attacks and operational failure. Management of Operational Resilience at scale requires that business services are architected to be resilient, repeatedly tested and constantly strengthened.
  • This role requires support to establish the CCIB Operational Resilience Framework, design and implementation across CCIB working in an agile operating model with each segment and product. The Framework will comprise new Operational Resilience regulations, Business Continuity Management and Crisis Management.
Strategy
  • Support Product Owner in design, development and implementation of Operational Resilience Framework in CCIB, including establishing compliance with relevant regulations.
  • Participate in Operational Resilience squads in each business service, and collaborate with stakeholders to identify vulnerabilities, prioritise improvements and manage implementation.
  • Help uplift testing and exercising capabilities and related guidance.
  • Leverage capability from the Group Resilience team to ensure best practice, lessons, and capability is shared across the Group on design, implementation and maintenance.
Business
  • Support ongoing Incident and Crisis Management improvement initiatives.
  • Contribute to the design and development of CCIB-wide guidelines, training materials and templates for OR implementation and maintenance for implementation by the Group Business Resilience leads. Facilitate consultation with Group Operational Resilience, Group Business Resilience leads, Regional and Country stakeholders for input.
  • Identify strategic changes or vulnerabilities requiring remediation.
  • Participate in workshops, exercises and scenario testing to identify vulnerabilities in resilience of operational assets. (IT, Data, 3rd parties, people, property etc.)
  • Support Product Owner in review and challenge of Group Business level response, continuity, recovery, crisis management capability, teams, plans within CCIB.
  • Review, challenge and support each business area capability to respond and recover from natural disasters, market events, external attacks and topical situations such as elections. This includes the development and management consolidated Operational Resilience Contingency Plans, Crisis Management Plans, Playbooks and Runbooks.
  • Support design and preparation of consolidated crisis exercises across CCIB and support preparation for crisis exercises within CCIB MT on a regular basis to ensure preparedness for any contingency

Risk Management
  • Support Product Owner in development of QPR/NFRC submissions related to OR treatment, improvement actions and monitoring of risks.
  • Support the design and implementation of monitoring in each business service for changes to the risk profile of operational assets such as high criticality systems, SLAs, organisational design, movement of operational capability.
  • Support risk reviews, particularly covering technology and ICS risk.
  • Support escalation of risks relating to Operational Resilience.
  • Support reporting of Operational Resilience risks and treatment actions.
  • Effectively and collaboratively identify, escalate, mitigate and resolve risk, conduct and compliance matters.
Governance
  • Support Product Owner with implementation of Group policies standards, and local regulatory requirements through prioritisation within applicable QPRs and subsequent execution by relevant squads
  • Understand and assess the impact of changes in the policy or standards on CCIB and engage with the CCIB businesses to ensure the impact is understood.
  • Recommend additions/enhancements/changes to the Operational Resilience policy, standard, guidelines, procedures, and controls to the Product Owner.
  • Monitor Operational Resilience profile and posture and report any non-compliance to the Product Owner.
  • Participate and represent CCIB in Operational Resilience working groups to provide updates and influence positive outcomes for the Business.
  • Design and support implementation and validation of OR KRIs, KCIs and other risk ratings/assessments, as well as process designs using available MI at CCIB, Group Business, Region and Country levels.

  • 10+ years of experience in Operational risk in Banking
  • Experience in Operational Resilience in Banking
  • Experience in project & program management
  • Experience in Application, System and Infrastructure Architecture
  • Expertise in Incident and Crisis Management
  • Data & Management Information design capability expertise
  • Hands on experience working on reporting & MS Office tools
  • Knowledge of the Global regulatory environment and the ongoing developments
  • Comprehensive knowledge of risk governance frameworks & quality framework and processes
