Setting research goals and directions that are aligned with the Academy\'s vision, mission and strategic plans
Oversee and manage the Research Division, including planning, budgeting, resource allocation, assessing manpower needs and recruiting qualified candidates
Lead and develop research initiatives to enhance the quantity and quality of NAFA\'s research output and enable the Academy to achieve research excellence
Develop research plans, methodologies, and frameworks to ensure the validity, reliability, and ethical conduct of research studies, including identifying suitable external assessors for the research assessment process
Work with faculty, external researchers, academic institutions, industry partners and funding agencies to develop research collaborations and leverage resources and expertise
Train, mentor and supervise faculty, providing support and guidance in fostering a culture of knowledge sharing within the academic and research community
Keep abreast of the latest research trends, advancements, and innovations in the field, engaging in continuous learning to enhance research capabilities
Participate or lead academic committees or taskforces for continuous improvement
Undertake 4-8 contact/teaching hours per week during term time
Perform other duties as assigned by Provost
Requirements
Minimum qualification of PhD in a related discipline
Preferably with at least 15 years of teaching and relevant working experience in the education sector
Experienced in academic research and management
Strong ability to motivate and mentor staff and colleagues, guiding them towards excellence in their job performance
Demonstrate understanding, appreciation, and passion for the arts with a strong interest in nurturing the artistically talented
Excellent command of written and spoken English
