The Role Responsibilities
Strategy

  • Grow FM Sales Investor and SIG business across non-flow private credi
Business
  • Grow SCB’s client income from non-bank FI clients and drive penetration of key target clients.
  • Support global client initiatives to increase SCB’s revenues with non-bank FIs on private non-flow credit deals globally.
  • Work closely with all stakeholders across private and public sides to improve the firm’s coordination and penetration with key clients.
  • Using strong credit analysis background to analyse private credit deals and opportunity spot relevance for non-bank FIs.
Processes
  • Proactively manage the designated client portfolio to ensure:
    • Close ties exist with key stakeholders across Financial Markets, Transaction Banking, Risk, Compliance, Client Coverage and Support Functions
    • Risks are appropriately identified and managed
    • The team is suitably trained with respect to an understanding of the regulatory environment, keeping up to date with applicable changes and Group policies with ability to contribute and, where possible, influencing policy formulation
    • Key regulatory risks and concerns are raised into the governance framework throughout the front office and support teams
    • All sales disciplines are adhered in accordance with CIB/GB standards i.e. Account Planning, Call Reports, Deal Pipeline Management

  • Leads through example in building appropriate culture and values. Sets appropriate tone and expectations by working in collaboration with risk and control partners.
  • Encourages through deeds and words a culture of openness and collaboration, especially within the functions providing business related support.
Risk Management
  • Takes responsibility for identifying, assessing, monitoring, controlling and mitigating risks to the Group. Also, an awareness and understanding of the main risks facing the Group and the role the individual and the team play in managing them.
  • Ensures all regulatory and compliance initiatives surrounding the product are identified, socialised and closed out in a timely and efficient fashion.
Governance
  • Assesses the effectiveness of the Group’s arrangements to deliver effective governance, oversight and controls in the business and, if necessary, recommend changes in these areas
  • Maintains awareness and understanding of the regulatory framework in which the Group operates, and the regulatory requirements and expectations relevant to the role.
  • Is aware of business strategy and governance parameters and works within them or seeks formal dispensation prior to entering client discussions in exceptional cases.
  • Ensures the sales process, commercials, and necessary governance are in place to govern the roll-out of the product.
Regulatory & Business Conduct
  • Display exemplary conduct and live by the Group’s Values and Code of Conduct.
  • Take personal responsibility for embedding the highest standards of ethics, including regulatory and business conduct, across Standard Chartered Bank. This includes understanding and ensuring compliance with, in letter and spirit, all applicable laws, regulations, guidelines and the Group Code of Conduct.
  • Lead the team to achieve the outcomes set out in the Bank’s Conduct Principles: Fair Outcomes for Clients; Effective Financial Markets; Financial Crime Compliance; The Right Environment.
  • Effectively and collaboratively identify, escalate, mitigate and resolve risk, conduct and compliance matters.

Our Ideal Candidate
  • 10 years of experience in financial markets / investment banking
  • Bank training, complete all mandatory & developmental training – role specific, and regulatory/compliance bank wide & role specific
  • Candidate must have sound decision making, be action orientated, collaborate effectively, able to address difficult issues, build strong working relationships, ability to instil trust, and have the ability to self-grow.
  • Deep understanding of SCB’s processes and operating model is critical in delivering success in this role.
  • Candidate must have a strong understanding of SCB’s FM business across both public and private side.
  • A team player who can lead by example and positively influence the growth of colleagues.
  • Strong interpersonal and stakeholder management skills and able to build strong working relationship and drive influence across all levels in the organization, including senior leadership teams. Ability to leverage an existing strong global network is preferred.
  • Highly effective oral and written English language communication skills, with an ability to influence and to gain the respect of senior stakeholders and peers.
  • University degree essential and post-graduate qualification in business management preferred.

  • A highly entrepreneurial, dedicated individual who has a strategic mindset and can effectively manage ambiguity to drive solutions
  • Strong financial management, data and problem-solving skills a must
  • Familiarity with FM product suite and understanding of FM Strategy
