Job Description


SFDA team is looking to hire a VP/D lead execution of project finance transactions in India. The Project Finance team provides arranging and advisory solutions across various sectors including Renewables, Infrastructure (including Digital Infrastructure), and New Energy (Hydrogen, Sustainable Fuel, EV etc.)

Job Responsibilities

  • Lead execution of debt facilities including
  • Drafting and review of term sheets
  • Reviewing project contracts and due diligence reports
  • Undertaking risk and financial analysis entailing running sensitivities and scenarios in financial model.
  • Preparing Credit application
  • lesioning with client
  • leading documentation and ensuring all internal processes are complied with to facilitate financial close.
  • Support senior staff to develop and maintain client relationships in line with the agreed sector and/or market strategy and risk appetite of the department with the view to originating project / acquisition finance opportunities as well as to maximise ancillary business for SMBC
  • Support senior members in the preparation / execution of new strategies / initiatives. Participate in portfolio reviews as required.
  • Support the senior staff in coaching and developing junior talent in line with SMBC\'s 5 values and Break the Mold . Promote an inclusive working environment and strong culture of integrity and compliance.
Job Requirements
  • University degree or above
  • 7 years or more relevant working experience
  • Experienced in assisting senior members of the team in pitching for new deals (past experience in pitching to sectors including power and renewables, infrastructure (including digital infra), new energy space, particularly at C-suite level will be a plus)
  • Experienced in loan credit preparation and processes
  • Experienced in loan and security arrangements preparation and execution
  • Strong computer skills e.g. word, excel, powerpoint
  • Experience in advisory work
  • Able to take leadership role in tasks assigned, working with peers in other departments, with juniors in the resource pool as well as external parties like peer banks and consultants
  • Team player
  • Strong communicator both verbally and in writing
  • The candidate is expected to cover the India region for SFDA business and lead the execution of SFDA transactions across the sectors including power and renewables, infrastructure (including digital infra), new energy space.and contribute to the annual budgets set for the team
  • The candidate may/may not have direct reportees but will have asssistance and would have to guide the junior members of the team in deal execution works.
  • The candidate will interact with internal stakeholders including corporate banking RMs, treasury and structuring solutions team, credit department, planning department etc.
  • The candidate is expected to lead discussions with external stakeholders including client senior management, law firm partners, 3rd party consultants/advisors and industry experts.
