The mission of the Youth Preventive Service (YPS) of the Health Promotion Board (HPB) is to promote good health through early detection and intervention to reduce ill health among the school children. Youth Preventive Dental Service Division (YPDS), comprising of the School Dental Service (SDS) and StudentDental Centre (SDC), is one of the 3 divisions under YPS.

The School Dental Service (SDS) provides oral healthcare services to school-going children to ensure that they achieve good oral health and dental fitness. The comprehensive range of services includes oral health promotion, education talks, dental screenings and treatment.

The Student Dental Centre (SDC) provides oral healthcare services to students up to 18 years of age. Patients range from pre-schoolers, primary and secondary school children with complex treatment who are referred from Field Dental Clinics in schools, as well as those in junior colleges, the Institutes of Technical Education (ITEs), polytechnics and special needs schools.

What you Can Expect

As Director of the division, you will develop strategic frameworks and set overall medium to long-term directions for oral health programmes in children and youth, and align strategies with national policies, and organisational objectives, and recommendations on oral health. You will set strategic directions in clinical service standards and quality, and lead a team of over 250 dental professionals in the provision of high clinical service standards and quality of dental care to the children. You will see to the daily operations of more than 200 static and mobile dental clinics and lead the strategic direction, planning, decision making and overall performance of the YPDS Division, including the administrative, operational, finance, procurement and manpower functions to ensure an optimal mode of service delivery.

As a key player in the paediatric oral health sector in Singapore, you will also champion the wider industry development of oral health professionals to support the sustainability of HPB\xe2\x80\x99s school dental service. You will assume the role of an expert voice in paediatric oral health and represent the interests of HPB and MOH locally and internationally, and provide guidance and input to the crafting of national policies and strategies.

Be Part of the Team

• A basic tertiary qualification in Dentistry, BDS, preferably with a post-graduate qualification in Paediatric Dentistry or Public Dental Health with full registration with Singapore Dental Council.
• A strong visionary leader who has at least 15 years of relevant experience in child psychology and management with a proven track record in managing oral health promotion and education programmes
• Proven results in working with a wide spectrum of stakeholders to build collaborative partnerships to champion oral heath promotion
• Capacity to envision and develop clinical programmes consistent with the organisation\xe2\x80\x99s mission
• Knowledge related to trend, issues, laws and regulations associated with the delivery of oral health services
• Knowledge of quality assurance, clinical audits and risk management standards and process
• Experience in managing corporate functions relating to strategy execution, budgeting, human resource, procurement and technology development
