Job Description


The Metta Home for the Disabled and Metta Home Day Activity Centre were set up in December 2000 to offer community care options to adults with intellectual disabilities who are aged between 18 and 55. Funded by the Ministry of Community Development, Youth and Sports (MCYS), the former is a purpose-built facility designed to accommodate 103 residents, whereas the latter is supported under the MSF and Tote Board Social Service Fund to provide day care services for a capacity of 50 beneficiaries. Our programmes aim to equip all recipients with the skills and means to lead independent and fulfilling lives, so as to achieve social integration and quality of life. Tending them with holistic care and working closely with their primary caregivers to provide well-rounded support is a multi-disciplinary team comprising a social worker, training officers, staff nurses, assistant nurses, nursing and therapy aides.

As a Disability Care Manager , the candidate is responsible in the following areas:

Main Responsibilities

1. Key Responsibility Areas

1. Operation Responsibilities

  • Oversees the daily operations of the Home and 2 DACs
  • Work with caregivers, and staff regarding a client\xe2\x80\x99s program plan and offers constructive suggestions on how they can aid in promoting functional growth
  • Schedules program activities and coordinate the necessary support services such as recreation, therapy, OT etc
2. Administration Responsbilities
  • Maintains records, prepares reports, and correspondence relative to the work
  • Conduct quarterly disabilities care committee meeting
  • Ensure compliance to regulatory requirements as directed under MSF\xe2\x80\x99s standard of care for adult disability home and DACs
  • Ensure ISO guideline and internal procedures are complied
  • Timely submission of yearly financial budget, including manpower and capital requirements
  • Ensuring financial expenditure are within approved budget
  • Evaluates and verifies employee performance through the review of completed work assignments and work techniques
  • Coordinates activities by scheduling work assignments, setting priorities, and directing the work of employees
  • Identifies staff development and training needs and ensures that training is obtained
3. Others Responsibilities
  • Selects and assigns staff, ensuring equal employment opportunity in hiring and promotion
  • Acts as a liaison between the funders, community partners and community schools/workshop programs
  • Performs related work or other duties as directed by management
2. Requirements Experience
  • Minimum 3-5 years of related experience in supervision management, prior experience in home management advantageous
Qualifications
  • Minimum Degree or equivalent in any field
