Join Macquarie\'s fast-paced Global Physical Oil business as an Oil Analyst, providing fundamental and quantitative analysis to the Commodities Trading Desk. Our team is part of the Commodities and Global Markets group which provides product solutions to producers, consumers, private equity, financial institutions, and investors with an integrated, end-to-end offering across global markets including equities, fixed income, foreign exchange, and commodities.

What role will you play?

You will be responsible for the Supply and Demand model for the Regional Asian Distillates desk, Refinery Runs monitoring of statistics and refinery margins across the region, including covering analysis of events for benefit of the trading desks. You will also assist with task automation, facilitate and contribute to communication with the desk and assist with creating dashboards to easily visualise data.

In addition, you will assess and communicate key findings within the team and relevant stakeholders on Asian and Middle East trade flow tracking and likely future flows given current economics, examining yields, refinery configurations and regulations.

What you offer

• Technical degree qualified with at least 2-5 years of relevant experience using quantitative skills with high interest in commodity/financial markets
• Highly adept in excel, VBA, python and proficient with relational databases and SQL
• Ability to analyse data and identify trends with the ability to connect the dots and interpolate trends. Proven experience in market analysis will be highly regarded
• Strong sense of ownership with an entrepreneurial spirit and a creative approach to problem solving
• Strong communication skills and ability to seamlessly interact with senior executives within a fast-paced environment.
