Reuters is looking for an accomplished news Duty Editor in our Singapore global news hub. This is a great opportunity to join a multi-skilled and talented team that delivers planned coverage to deadlines and excels at breaking news coverage. As a Duty Editor, you\'ll have the opportunity to combine your strong video news background with your leadership experience and work closely with the newsgathering teams in our bureaus as well as our production teams.You\'ll take responsibility for overseeing a daily video news file and will shape the priorities of a production team tasked with delivering fast, accurate and original coverage to our global and Asia regional client base that includes more than 1,000 broadcasters and digital media outlets. You\'ll ideally be a journalist looking to marry a passion for news with the complicated logistics that make things happen across a range of stories both for edited and live content.This is the perfect role for someone passionate about creativity and innovation in news, that\'s looking to maintain the highest standards and ethics across our coverage. As such, you\'ll motivate our teams to diversify their sources and the perspectives of the stories we tell. This role will require shift work as well as some weekends. As the Duty Editor you will report to the Asia Video Editor.This position will be based in our Singapore newsroom.About the RoleAs a trusted Duty Editor, Reuters Video, you will:

• Ensure Reuters news coverage remains independent and free from bias, with the highest standards in the news industry.
• Take a lead role in shaping the direction of the daily video news file from Asia and beyond.
• Respond courageously at speed to major breaking news events no matter where they take place.
• Work with senior bureau producers and the video regional editor to ensure teams are positioned to deliver high-quality live and edited video to all Reuters customers.
• Coordinate with colleagues from text and photography to deliver customer-focused multimedia content.
• Provide feedback to bureaus and desk producers on quality issues.

About YouYou\'re a fit for the role of Duty Editor, Reuters Video if you have:

• Editorial experience in agency and/or broadcast television newsgathering and production.
• The ability to lead and motivate teams.
• Excellent communication skills and the capacity to build strong relationships.
• A track record of delivering breaking news fast with an unwavering commitment to accurate, impartial reporting.
• The ability to drive speed and accuracy.
• A deep understanding of the broadcast and digital landscape and the needs of Reuters customers.
• Experience of managing teams in hostile environments.
• Fluency in an Asian language would be an advantage.
