The Role Responsibilities
Responsible for the end-to-end design and optimisation of the Global Transaction Monitoring and Fraud organisation within Financial Crime Surveillance Operations. This will include working closely with technology and the business for items such as product management and monitoring, code mapping and logic, tuning and analytics as we evolve from a predominantly rule based program to more model based. Strategy

  • Evaluate and establish a new end-to-end process for Transaction Monitoring & Fraud Design covering: new scenario and model deployment, tunings/calibrations, optimisations, change requests, automations.
  • Provide and ensure that volume forecasting is as accurate as possible.
  • Awareness and understanding of the Group\xe2\x80\x99s strategy and model appropriate to the role.
  • Work with Rule Mapping / Business Product / Segments and Regional/Country FCC teams to understand regulatory changes across the business product/segment or within the region/countries in relation to Transaction Monitoring requirements.
  • Coordinate Transaction Monitoring & Fraud Design changes globally with the appropriate stakeholders to ensure industry best practice and work to close out any coverage gaps.
Business
  • Ensure Transaction Monitoring & Fraud coverage is up-to-date, accurately reflecting the latest in regulatory requirements / expectations globally.
  • Analyse the impact of any new or changing business activity and ensure any new or evolving risks are covered.
  • Ensure that key changes to the program are communicated and cascaded (in region/country) to all impacted teams.
  • Drive internal challenge conversations in analyzing impact of financial crime related regulatory matters, relevant to Product and Segment Advisory functions.
  • Key stakeholder management by driving collaboration across functionally and geographically dispersed teams.
People & Talent
  • Promote and embed a culture of openness, trust and risk awareness, where ethical, legal, regulatory and policy compliant conduct is the norm.
  • Stimulate an environment where forward planning, prioritisation, deadline management and streamlined workflows are collaborative, inclusive yet effective and efficient work practices are the norm.
  • Ensure the provision of ongoing training and development of people, and ensure that relevant team members are suitably skilled and qualified for their roles ensuring that they have effective supervision in place to mitigate any risks.
Risk Management
  • Apply Group and FCC policies and processes (AML monitoring) to manage risks.
  • Review red flag coverage / typology reviews based on relevant segments/products and validate appropriate monitoring coverage which is fit-for-purpose and compliant with regulatory requirements and expectations.
  • Ensure the monitoring program has all the relevant controls in place to detect data feed drops, scenario issues etc.
  • Build out a dynamic tuning capability and embed predictive capabilities.
  • Focus on improving the overall effectiveness of the program with increased risk detection whilst reducing noise.
  • Forward thinking approach looking at ways to enhance the monitoring to be holistic in nature and look at risk clusters rather than purely rule based.
  • Assist with projects to automate process wherever possible.
Governance
  • Attend relevant business / segment / product related working group meetings.
  • Ensure tracking and timely remediation of surveillance and investigations related regulatory findings.
  • Ensure Product and Segment regulatory related matters impacting monitoring are raised and tracked in the relevant CFCC and Governance Committees.
  • Support tabling of major Transaction Monitoring & Fraud regulatory matters impacting Product or Segment areas to relevant risk forums, where required.
Regulatory & Business Conduct

  • Effectively and collaboratively identify, escalate, mitigate and resolve risk, conduct and compliance matters.

Our Ideal Candidate
  • 10+ years of experience in Financial Monitory market
  • Experience of establishing/changing and leading Transaction Monitoring Design Teams previously
  • Should have strategic mindset with ability to drive change through a program
  • Strong stakeholder management and collaborative skills
  • Certifications: ACAMS or equivalent would be an advantage
  • Excellent verbal, presentation and written communication skills
