Imperium Commodity Search is working with a globally renowned food and agri-business with operations in over 50 countries seeking an experienced physical trader to join their Edible Oils team in Singapore. The ideal candidate will be well-connected across SE Asia with strong experience in the physical trade of palm, soybean, rapeseed and sunflower oils, ideally with an existing portfolio of suppliers and customers in commodity, retail, food manufacturing and/or food service industries.
Key Responsibilities / Tasks

• Responsible for the physical trading of relevant softs/Ags products which include Biofuel, Rapeseed oil across the global markets.
• Strong in-depth knowledge & understanding of interplay of rapeseed oil complex and linkages with biodiesel, relationships within various Methyl Esters and biodiesel margin dynamics with various feedstocks
• Targeting and developing new markets for potential business and expanding network of suppliers and customers
• Keep up to date with market intelligence, price changes and supply and demand models through monitoring trends and market conditions to help identify new business opportunities
• Working closely with supporting teams in operations and shipping to ensure excellent supply chain management and delivery of products
• Build new and maintain existing relationships with suppliers and customers in relevant markets
• Develop models and trading strategies for crush, time & inter product spread trading.
• Manage grains books within the Agri-commodity fund.
• Existing contacts within commodity derivatives end-users and the ability to rapidly build a book of counterparties from industry contacts
• Active participation and sharing inputs for developing investment strategies across all Agri commodities.

Key Qualifications / Experience

• Minimum 7 years' experience in physical trading of relevant edible oils/biofuels products across APAC markets
• Experience managing commercial risks of a physical supply chain business, including commodity price risk management and trading and commercial supply chain management.
• Candidate must have existing (and ideally transferrable) relevant relationships, ideally within the Edible Oils (Palm, Rapeseed, Sunflower, Soybean etc.) space
• Proven track record of consistently delivering positive PnL.
• Strong knowledge of softs/ags markets and insights in the supply and demand dynamics
• Strong analytical and conceptual skills
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
• Fluency in English is essential, Mandarin desirable, other languages are a plus
• Knowledge of the global Edible Oils markets
• Experience with commodity derivates / hedging is a plus
• Good fundamental knowledge of the commodity markets as well as a strong numerical and economic background.
• Flexibility to travel regularly
• Ideally will be located in Singapore with full existing right to work - candidates willing to relocate may also be considered on case by case basis
