Job Summary: To manage, maintain, implement and improve the Environment, Health & Safety (EHS) activities to ensure the well being of our associates and in compliance to statutory and corporate requirements with special attention to the following areas:

• Safety System Management (Safe Work Procedures/ Permit to Work/Safety Committee/etc.)
• Fire Safety Management (Fire Drill/ Evacuation/ Fire Fighting Equipment/ ERT Team)
• Security Business Continuity Planning (Crisis Management/Bomb Threats)
• Licenses compliances/ Renewal (BCA/SCDF/LTA/JTC/MOM)
• Perform the role of Safety Officer and Fire Safety Manager for the premises, ensuring regulatory compliance to Workplace Safety & Health Act and other mandatory requirements
• In addition, you will manage the outsourced Security Services and Security System

Main Responsibilities:

• Lead a team to support all EHS matters within the premises, ensuring compliance to statutory and corporate requirements
• Support the Steering Team in the areas relating to the Environment, Health and Safety to ensure that policies and procedures are put in place to achieve and fulfill the company\'s objectives to promote safety within the organization.
• Work with the Value Stream Leaders and Section Managers to manage a long term sustainable approach towards risks assessment and work standards on safety
• Maintain a robust system to streamline effective reporting which allows tracking of site Safety indicators for onsite and regional reporting
• Establish, implement, maintain and lead the Safety Committee and ensure good practices are cascaded to all levels and that they are in compliance to the Workplace Safety & Health Act and other mandatory requirements
• Manage and lead investigations relating to EHS and Security issues
• Liaise with regulatory institutions on all matters relating to EHS. Act as a point of contact for regional EHS activities related to Tuas Plant. Where applicable, coordinate MOM/ NEA/ SCDF/ SPF Visits and Inspection with the relevant Value Streams and Departments
• Advise the Tuas Steering Team in programs and good practices to reduce or eliminate accidents.
• Manage outsourced Security Services including establishment of security systems and controls within the premises
• Manage all contractors working within the premises to ensure compliance to safety regulations and controls
• Safety & ISO 14001 Environmental accountability: Ensure a safe, healthy and environmentally-friendly workplace by observing Company\xe2\x80\x99s rules and elimination of potential safety hazards and participation in activities which promotes recycling, replacement and reduction of resource materials.
• Safety & health accountability: Safety and health are important to BD and we encourage the observance of all safety programs and training assigned to you. Such programs are to be attended in a timely manner to ensure that work tasks carried out are in accordance to our safety guidelines and SOPs.
• Any other duties as assigned from time to time.

Job Requirements

• Degree holder or Diploma holder with at least 3 years\' leadership experience in related field in a manufacturing environment.
• MOM Registered Workplace Safety and Health Officer is a must.
• SCDF certified Fire Safety Manager is a must.
• Great sense of urgency in a fast paced environment
• Problem-solving and analytical skills with the ability to simplify complex issues and guide others to resolution of problems relating to safety and security
• Ability to influence and communicate across all functions
