Role: Electrical Design Engineer

Responsibilities:

Design and develop comprehensive electrical systems for industrial and power generation projects, ensuring compliance with relevant international standards and client specifications. Specify, evaluate, and integrate key electrical components including Transformers, Switchgear, Motor Control Centres (MCC), Main Distribution Boards (MDB), Power Control Centres (PCC), UPS systems, and Emergency Diesel Generators (EDG). Interpret, develop, and review critical electrical engineering deliverables such as Single Line Diagrams (SLD), Load Lists, Cable Schedules, Panel General Arrangements (GA), Schematic Diagrams, and Cable Routing plans. Manage and coordinate with vendors and suppliers, demonstrating strong technical and commercial acumen in negotiating contracts, evaluating proposals, and ensuring the timely delivery of high-quality electrical equipment and services. Provide expert technical responses to queries raised by vendors, suppliers, and internal stakeholders, effectively resolving issues related to electrical system design and implementation. Conduct technical reviews and ensure the accuracy and integrity of all electrical design documentation. Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams to ensure seamless integration of electrical systems with overall project design. Stay abreast of industry best practices, new technologies, and regulatory changes in electrical power engineering.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Engineering, or a closely related field. Minimum of 5-8 years of progressive experience in electrical design engineering within heavy industries such as power generation, data centres, oil & gas, or similar. Demonstrated hands-on experience with the function, application, and design principles of Transformers, Switchgear, MCC, MDB, PCC, UPS systems, and EDG. Proficient in interpreting and developing electrical engineering deliverables, including SLDs, Load Lists, Cable Schedules, Panel GAs, Schematic Diagrams, and Cable Routing. Proven capability in vendor/supplier management, encompassing both technical evaluation and commercial negotiation. Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to effectively respond to complex technical queries. Strong communication, interpersonal, and collaboration skills. * Proficiency in relevant electrical design software and tools is a plus.
