Responsibilities

• Under broad direction, drafts, maintains, and improves documentation associated with new/existing tools, scientific software products and/or new releases to ensure their usability
• Develop understanding of tool assembly/operation, application of software usability for testing and documentation process to provide recommendations for process, quality, cost improvement.
• Develops and document test procedures, conducts tests and completes test result analysis for assigned projects. Advises and assists in handling field and manufacturing problems to maintain and improve products and services
• Diagnoses instrument and electrical and/or electronic system problems. Services, troubleshoots, repairs and/or replaces and maintains instrument and electrical and/or electronics component level in surface and downhole equipment.
• Scope of work may include firmware implementation as well as hands-on testing of actual electronics.

• Interacts with other groups: vendors, R&D and customer etc, support to ensure essential content is captured and kept up to date (e.g., at time of new release, product fix, or as needed to address customer feedback or insights)

• Assists in analysis, modification and design of products and services for assigned projects which requires basic knowledge of materials, components, and their applications. Investigates use of alternate materials

• Technical disposition for vendor and quality queries, design change implementation. Working with vendor and supplier in expediating and resolving component lead time and obsolescence issues

• Incorporates Reliability, HSE and Quality analysis techniques during the design process. Comply with Halliburton HSE and Service Quality requirements

Requirements:

• Degree in Electrical Engineering or similar discipline.
• Fundamentals of electronics design, able to read schematics, electronic circuit design
• Programming knowledge with C/C++, Python, VHDL/Verilog, Matlab is advantageous
• Experience with testing equipment like digital multi-meter, oscilloscope, functional generator
• Familiar with circuit simulator such as LTspice is an added bonus
• Able to perform soldering
• Good personal, professional, team work and communication skills are required.
