The Camera Hardware Engineering group is responsible for the design, development, and innovation of camera hardware for all related Apple products. Our target is to deliver extraordinary hardware to enable exclusive camera user experience. We are looking for an enthusiastic, high energy individual who can help us with tomorrow’s challenges!

Key Qualifications

• You will have 5+ (For Engineer) /10+ years (for Senior Engineer) of relevant experience
• Expertise in electronic design, including component selection, schematic capture, and PCB design with ECAD tools like Cadence ConceptHDL
• Extensive experience with EE design for electrical circuits, including high-speed interfaces and standard embedded control interfaces
• Strong knowledge of EE design and layout for low-noise linear and high-current switching power supply circuits
• Knowledge of layout strategies for EMI/EMC minimization, signal integrity and low noise
• Comfort and ability to use all types of electronic lab equipment
• Broad knowledge of engineering concepts; device behavior, data analysis, and system integration
• Ability to run multiple projects and project types
• Proven ability to diagnose problems and analytical troubleshooting
• Great interpersonal skills - the ability to collaborate across groups
• Excellent process development and documentation skills

Description

- Determine component requirements, and develop schematic designs for innovative camera modules containing image sensors, microcontrollers, low-noise power supplies, high-current laser drivers, and high-speed serial interfaces. - Analyze circuit parasitic and tolerances to ensure correct operation over the specified voltage and temperature ranges. - Direct layout and/or supervision of layout for PCB, Flex, and Ceramic substrates - Debug EE issues, including power quality, high-speed signal integrity and embedded interface performance such as I2C - Electrical test and validation of all electrical designs author clear and comprehensive electrical test documentation for manufacturing partners to complete test and validation - Simulation, test, and validation of EMI/EMC and ESD performance of all designs - Develop test procedures for camera module validation and production test. - Develop electronic prototypes for new camera features and product concepts

Education & Experience

BS/MS/PhD in a relevant field (Electrical Engineering or Physics)

Additional Requirements

• Experience with PCB layout

• Familiarity with camera and optics technology

• Familiarity with CMOS image sensors is helpful, but not required

• Familiarity with micro-controller and instrument programming

• Experience using Matlab and/or Labview

• Occasional travel may be required, but is not a critical component of this position.

• Proficient verbal and written english language skills. Additional languages a plus.
