An Electromechanical Technician installs, tests, operates, maintains, and repairs electrical and mechanical equipment. They work with automated systems, robotics, control systems, and machinery that integrate both electrical and mechanical components.
Typical duties include:
Reading and interpreting blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.
Installing, assembling, and calibrating electromechanical systems and devices.
Performing preventive maintenance and troubleshooting on automated equipment, robotics, and control systems.
Using diagnostic tools to identify issues in electrical circuits, sensors, actuators, and mechanical parts.
Adjusting, repairing, or replacing defective components.
Assisting engineers in the design, testing, and improvement of electromechanical products.
Ensuring compliance with safety standards and regulations.
Job Requirements
Education
Minimum: Diploma or associate degree in Electromechanical Technology, Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering Technology, or related field.
Preferred: Bachelor's degree (for advanced roles or supervisory positions).
Skills & Knowledge
Strong knowledge of electrical and mechanical systems.
Familiarity with PLC programming, automation, and robotics.
Proficiency in using diagnostic tools, multimeters, oscilloscopes, and mechanical testing equipment.
Understanding of hydraulics, pneumatics, and motor controls.
Ability to read and interpret electrical/mechanical drawings.
Knowledge of safety regulations and industry standards.
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
