Role SummaryAtomionics is looking for an electronics engineer to assist the senior electronics engineer in miniaturizing the current cold atom interferometry setup. Optimal production of laser cooled atoms in a magneto-optical trap requires optimization of several trap parameters, such as optical power of different beams, their frequencies, time sequences, magnetic coil currents at different stages of cooling, and trapping of atoms. The associate will get the chance to work on schematic circuit development, PCB layout, PCBA prototyping, component evaluation, and firmware programming among other things.Responsibilities Build and debug electronic systems (data-acquisition systems, electro-mechanical devices, optoelectronics etc.) Work closely with physicists & engineers to build control systems and embedded software for the atom-interferometry system Design, manufacture, and evaluate electronic circuitsAbout you An absolutely driven individual with creative problem solving skills, analytical mind, and persistence, ideally, demonstrated Able to program and debug in C, C++ or Python, with some experience in programming embedded systems Well-versed in basic electronics: knowledge of fundamental circuits and their operation Experience with PCB design (and familiarity with at least one EDA software), assembly and testing of analog, digital and mixed signal circuitsEven better if you have Worked on interdisciplinary projects involving mechanical engineering, programming, etc. Worked in the industry for over a year or have completed at least a 6-months technical internship Worked on personal hobby projects (and can brag about them!)What we can offer you A chance to learn about the intricacies of deep-tech research, product development, and strategy in a high-growth startup while working with some of the best engineers and physicists Work on the cutting edge of quantum technology Develop robust applications for translational research A book/hobby project allowance to help you grow and collectively build the Atomionics library Board games and curry night
