The Electronics Test Technician is responsible for testing, troubleshooting, and validating electronic assemblies, circuits, and components to ensure products meet performance and quality standards. This role involves using test equipment, interpreting schematics, and collaborating with engineers to identify and resolve technical issues in prototypes, production units, and returned products.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform functional, performance, and reliability tests on electronic components, circuit boards, and assemblies.
Operate and maintain test equipment such as oscilloscopes, multimeters, signal generators, power supplies, and spectrum analyzers.
Identify, isolate, and troubleshoot faults or defects in electronic systems using diagnostic tools and schematics.
Document test results, deviations, and corrective actions accurately in test logs and reports.
Assist in the design, setup, and calibration of automated and manual test fixtures.
Support engineering teams in product development, validation, and failure analysis.
Ensure all testing procedures comply with company, industry, and safety standards.
Participate in continuous improvement activities to enhance testing efficiency and accuracy.
Maintain organization and cleanliness of the test lab area.
Job Requirements:
Education & Experience:
Minimum: Associate's degree (A.S.) in Electronics, Electrical Engineering Technology, or a related field.
Preferred: Bachelor's degree (B.S.) in Electrical or Electronics Engineering or equivalent experience.
Experience: 2+ years of experience in electronic testing, repair, or manufacturing environments (entry-level roles may accept technical school graduates).
Technical Skills:
Proficiency in using electronic test instruments (oscilloscope, DMM, logic analyzer, etc.).
Strong understanding of analog and digital circuits, schematics, and PCB layouts.
Familiarity with soldering, rework, and electronic assembly techniques.
Experience with automated test systems (ATE) or LabVIEW/Python test scripts is a plus.
Knowledge of ESD handling procedures and quality standards such as ISO 9001 or IPC-A-610.

Excellent problem-solving and analytical abilities.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy in documentation.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
Good communication skills for reporting findings and coordinating with engineers.
