We also develop the Smart Nation infrastructure and applications and facilitate collaboration with citizens and businesses to co-develop technologies.

The successful candidate will be deployed to Singapore Tourism Board to run exciting projects, providing opportunities to contribute to shape the tourism landscape.

About Us - Collaboratory, Singapore Tourism Board (STB)

The Singapore Tourism Board (STB) aims to transform how visitors travel and experience Singapore through solutions that ease frictions in a user\xe2\x80\x99s journey. We work on such solutions through collaborations with other government agencies and tourism businesses across Singapore.

What the role is

STB is looking for seasoned mangers who enjoy keeping a pulse on the tourism sector\xe2\x80\x99s dynamic technological landscape and love advocating for frontier technologies to disrupt traditional business models while driving greater value for enterprises.

What you will be working on

You will be supporting the Assistant Director in exploring new emerging technologies which will shape the future of tourism and customer experience. You will also champion innovation and technology capabilities within the tourism industry with the aim of increasing industry awareness and adoption of emerging technologies.

STB\xe2\x80\x99s approach towards emerging technologies follows 3 stages:

In the first stage of Investigation, you will handle research, stakeholder engagements, trials to understand the applicability of the technology to STB. An example of such early-stage technologies is NFTs.

In the second stage of Pilots, you will identify and shape proofs-of-concepts (POCs) and pilots with industry and technology companies to trial the use of the technology. Examples of such technologies at this stage are 5G and metaverse. You will work with business units across STB, planning and facilitating the conceptualisation of potential Extended Reality Proof-of-Concepts (POCs), with stakeholders, wherein the following may be required of you:

a. Work closely with a development team and stakeholders (internal and external) on project schedule and issues

b. Elicit and document business/user requirements and translate them into user-stories, in collaboration with product team

c. Manage requirements by clarifying and reviewing them via walkthrough with stakeholders

In the third stage of Adoption is where the technology has shown proven use cases. At this stage, the scope of work heavily involves driving adoption by educating internal business units, tourism companies, engaging technology providers to engineer strong take-up of identified technologies by the tourism sector e.g. hotels, attractions, tour operators, etc. This is done through availing easy-to-use resources, capability building and partnerships with stakeholders to launch POCs that they can scale up. An example of a technology at this stage is Extended Reality (XR), which has been identified as a technology with strong potential for enriching the visitor experience.

What we are looking for

Proven industry development and/or change management

Business development and needs analysis

Ability to spot opportunities for the tourism sector in the horizon, conceptualise desired outcomes.

Familiar with technology trends; able to dissect a technology beyond its hype and ideate use cases contextualised to the tourism sector.

Effective team player who is familiar with procurement and working with technology providers.

Strong writing ability and timeline management.

Great interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to present a case with confidence, communicate effectively and manage stakeholders i.e. technology providers, tourism stakeholders.

Highly goal-oriented, with good problem-solving skills and willingness to think outside the box and roll up one\xe2\x80\x99s sleeves to get the job done.

Product management experience, working directly with engineers and designers (bonus)

Experience with Agile methodology (Scrum) and UX development environment (bonus).

Certified Scrum Master or Certified Product Owner and/or Certified Business Analysis Professional (bonus).
