What the role is:
The Home Team Science and Technology Agency (HTX) is a statutory board under the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA), which aims to pioneer innovation solutions and develop world class science and technology capabilities to transform and empower the Home Team in delivering safety and security for Singapore. We are looking for aspired candidates to be part of a dynamic and multidisciplinary team that look into the management, development and delivery of robotics, automation and unmanned systems in the air, land and maritime domains; to enhance the operational effectiveness of the Home Team.
What you will be working on:
Consolidate and synergise RAUS use cases / requirements across the Whole-of-Government (WOG). Estimate costs and resource requirements for tech initiatives and establish contracts with industrial partners to provide trial and support services for WOG. Conduct trial and evaluate RAUS technologies' performance, functionality, and compliance. Establish KPIs to measure tech solution effectiveness. Provide technical support throughout WOG's project phases i.e., project planning, preparation of tender specifications, tender evaluation, design, implementation and User Acceptance Testing. Conduct workshops on various RAUS technologies, standards, policies etc. and to enable cross-sharing opportunities. Recommend policies, technological solutions and standards in the RAUS domain. Work with WOG agencies to review, develop and actualise the concept of operations to optimise the use of RAUS solutions. Enable cross-sharing of data via the use of existing data sharing platforms. Keep abreast of current RAUS component technologies, which include sensor systems, machine vision, perception, localization, mapping, navigation, autonomous behaviours and communication systems.
What we are looking for:
Bachelor's degree in engineering; preferably a Degree in Electrical / Electronics / Mechanical / Mechatronics / System Engineering / Communications Engineering / Computer Science. Experience in technology management, preferably in development of unmanned systems. Aspired fresh graduates with good understanding and strong interest on unmanned technologies in various domains are also welcomed to apply. Preferably with basic knowledge of Instruction Manual 8, communication/datalink and cybersecurity implementation. Applicants with more than 5 years' relevant experience will be considered for more senior positions. Has strong planning and project management skills. PMP or equivalent certification would be an advantage. A team player with good interpersonal relationship, organizational and system management skills. Good verbal and written communication skills. *** All new hires are appointed on a two-year contract in the first instance and will be assessed and considered for permanent tenure over time, based on performance.
