What the role is:As a Lead/Engineer in the Specialised Systems Sustainment domain, the job holder will be part of the team to develop, execute and maintain the sustainability plans for Specialised Systems capabilities of MHA. The job holder is expected to explore new technical capabilities and support concepts to develop cost effective solutions to ensure continued mission success. The job holder plays a pivotal role in the development of new protective equipment that is required by MHA's frontline units. The job holder shall also be responsible for the enhancement and modification of existing equipment to ensure their continued relevance in meeting changing operational requirements while optimising costs and useful lifespan.What you will be working on:The role will require the job holder to: Be involved in new capability projects to develop sustainability demands and assess maintainability and supportability provisions from tenderers. Undertake engineering and cost benefit analysis of sustenance plans for in-service Specialised Systems and equipment. Develop processes to enhance effectiveness or resiliency of support plans for operations and internal stakeholders. Manage Specialised Systems and equipment support contracts as contract administrator, reviewing processes periodically to ensure the robustness of audit and governance processes. Work with users on the Specific Operational Requirements (SOR) and development of technical specifications to meet operational needs. Co-ordinate and execute the acquisition projects of operational equipment and related services. Work with relevant stakeholders to plan, develop, manage and co-ordinate the acquisition, quality assessment and maintenance of specialised systems and equipment, taking into consideration the life cycle management. Ensure that project milestones are met and system performance meet the operational requirements on a timely basis. Provide technical or engineering advice to on all operational equipment and related projects to ensure cost efficiency vis-\xc3\xa0-vis reliability and safety.What we are looking for:

• Tertiary qualifications in Mechanical/ Materials Engineering (or equivalent) Knowledge and past engineering experience in related fields (e.g. Chemical, Biological, Fragmentation and Blast Protection), contract management, conduct of business process re-engineering, data analysis and cost benefit analysis. Knowledge in Materials and/or Mechanical Engineering, as well as industry knowledge of available services and operations equipment is advantageous Familiarity with Data Analytics and SAP Enterprise software is advantageous Prior knowledge in drafting specifications and contracts. Resourceful nature with innovative mind Management and communication skills. Possesses good written and analytical skills. Team player and willing to learn. Willing to go hands on to analyse data and reports when job scope requires. Ability to work under extreme pressure with tight deadlines. All new hires are appointed on a two-year contract in the first instance and will be assessed and considered for permanent tenure over time, based on performance.
