Primary Roles & Responsibilities

• \xef\x82\xb7 The patching cabling between network equipment and client\xe2\x80\x99s network
• \xef\x82\xb7 The installation of power cables from equipment to power supply in rack/cabinet/closet
• \xef\x82\xb7 The installation, troubleshooting and de-installing IT equipment (Servers / Network / Storage / etc) Install/swap out devices (e.g., phone, computers, cables, boards, edge routers, switches and etc.)
• \xef\x82\xb7 Complete all hard and complex Move, Add Change (MAC) requests within the defined service levels
• \xef\x82\xb7 Act as interface between client\xe2\x80\x99s associates and management
• \xef\x82\xb7 Provide hardware break-fix services for network infrastructure
• \xef\x82\xb7 Perform onsite call-through, data, voice, website and security testing
• \xef\x82\xb7 Perform back-up testing to ensure all systems are connected to the client\xe2\x80\x99s network as directed
• \xef\x82\xb7 Support carrier testing of circuits
• \xef\x82\xb7 Assist with facilities efforts such as vendor co-ordination and vendor supervision - Power and uninterruptable
• power supply (UPS) restoral - Water problems, - Emergency cooling restoration, - Fire suppression exercises,
• restoration, and post fire events
• \xef\x82\xb7 Support inventory management activities - Receiving inventory, - Tagging of assets, - Tracking spares (crash
• kits), - Ordering inventory, - Updating inventory records, - Prepare and return damaged equipment
• \xef\x82\xb7 Act as an interface, as needed, between associates at the applicable location and centralized project / operations / MAC management

• \xef\x82\xb7 Must be proficient in utilizing technical tools such as BERT testers, cable testers, and fiber testers.
• \xef\x82\xb7 Requires experience in working in communications closets
• \xef\x82\xb7 Must be able to perform rack and stack activities
• \xef\x82\xb7 Must be able to safely lift heavy objects
• \xef\x82\xb7 Must understand cable patching processes and procedures in copper and fiber
• \xef\x82\xb7 Experience in either or both CommScope and Corning structured cables (copper and fiber)
• \xef\x82\xb7 Must have a basic knowledge of data communications networking.
• \xef\x82\xb7 Must be able to assist in troubleshooting issues
• \xef\x82\xb7 Must understand network terminology
• \xef\x82\xb7 Requires good interpersonal communications skills
• \xef\x82\xb7 Must be able to explain technical issues in a way the client will understand an issue
• \xef\x82\xb7 Must be able to interpret a client\xe2\x80\x99s issue in a way that will allow technician to facilitate a resolution

• \xef\x82\xb7 5+ years of experience in Data Centre operations and environment
• \xef\x82\xb7 Must have a basic knowledge of local and wide area networking.
• \xef\x82\xb7 High school Diploma or equivalent required
