As an Engineering Intern, you will support operational transformation initiatives. You'll work alongside experienced engineers and transformation leads to analyse existing workflows, identify inefficiencies, and co-design practical solutions that enhance plant productivity, reliability, and safety.

  • Participate in Lean waste elimination projects, focusing on minimising the 8 classic wastes (transport, inventory, motion, waiting, over-processing, overproduction, defects, underutilised talent).
  • Conduct process walkdowns, map value streams, and propose improvement actions.
  • Support the development of RACI matrices to clarify roles and responsibilities across departments.
  • Assist in cascading and tracking KPI performance from management down to the operational level.
  • Contribute to Kaizen events and ideation workshops, helping generate and evaluate improvement ideas.
  • Collect and analyse operational data to support decision-making and transformation dashboards.
  • Document "before" vs "after" states of improvement projects to visualise impact.
Qualifications
  • Undergraduate student in Process / Mechanical / Industrial Engineering or related discipline.
  • Strong analytical mindset and interest in process optimisation.
  • Comfortable working on site in an operational plant environment.
  • Familiar with Excel, PowerPoint, and basic process mapping tools (e.g., Visio, Draw.io).
  • Curious, proactive, and willing to challenge the status quo constructively.
  • Familiarity with Lean / Kaizen / Six Sigma concepts.
