What you will be working on:As an Engineer in the Research Programme Office of Coastal Protection Department, you will play a key role in facilitating and promoting the research ecosystem for coastal protection. You would work with a team overseeing the PUB's Coastal Protection and Flood Management Research Programme (CFRP) and initiating and managing a strong pipeline of research projects in coastal protection. Your job role will include, but is not limited to the following: Focus on domain areas under the Coastal Protection and Flood Management Research Programme (CFRP). It could relate to (a) innovative engineering solutions, (b) integrated nature-based (green-grey) solutions, (b) sustainable infrastructure solutions or (d) smart management solutions. Explore new technologies/ideas with potential collaborators (IHLs and industry players) in order to develop deep domain knowledge and innovative solutions to protect Singapore against the challenges posed by climate change and sea level rise. Support the governance and executive committees of the CFRP Coordinate with the CoE (named Coastal Protection and Flood Resilience Institute Singapore) to implement Centre-initiated research projects and to scope Applied Research (Request for Proposals [RFPs] and Direct Awards) and Living Lab projects. Carry out technical & feasibility assessment of proposals or new technologies to ensure suitability and benefits of embarking on the projects to meet PUB's current and future operations/needs. Plan, execute and manage the entire cycle of developing RFPs and Direct Awards, proposal evaluation processes, project award and initiation processes. Manage R&D projects in the domain areas of coastal protection to ensure they meet their objectives, deliverables, timeline and bring value to PUB. Support technology translation initiatives through effective collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.What we are looking for:
