What the role is:

The Centre for Climate Research Singapore (CCRS) is a division of the Meteorological Service Singapore (MSS). At CCRS, our mission is to advance scientific understanding of tropical climate variability and change and its associated weather systems affecting Singapore and the wider Southeast Asia region, so that the knowledge and expertise can benefit decision makers and the community. Our vision is to be a world leading centre in tropical climate and weather research focussing on the Southeast Asia region.

The Climate Science Research Programme Office (CSRPO), under CCRS, drives efforts to strengthen local research climate science capabilities in Singapore through NRF-funded Research, Innovation & Enterprise (RIE) research grants. Ongoing research programmes include the $7M National Sea Level Programme (NSLP) and $23.5M Climate Impact Science Research (CISR) Programme. Key priority areas include climate change impacts on sea level rise, water resources and flood management, biodiversity and food security; human health and energy; and translation of climate science to policy.

What you will be working on:

  • Facilitate the achievement of CCRS/CSRPO-based research programme outcomes.
  • Manage the administration of relevant projects, including project plans and schedules, funding initiative reports, progress reports, audit reports, budgeting, and finance reports.
  • Conduct regular engagement of stakeholders to communicate research requirements and facilitate the translation of scientific research; and inform policymaking decisions.
  • Assist in the formulation of RIE2030 strategy and new funding initiatives and research programmes to address knowledge gaps in the research landscape.
What we are looking for:

The job might be for you if you possess the following:
  • Familiarity in grants management, including budgeting, planning, execution, delivery, quality assurance, and reporting, will be a bonus.
  • Good team player and ability to work with various stakeholders including subject matter experts, senior management, and other stakeholder public agencies.
  • Interest in the field of weather and climate science research.
  • Able to work independently and to tight timelines as/when required.
