Job Summary:

The Assistant Engineer supports the engineering team in technical, maintenance, and project-related activities. The role involves assisting in troubleshooting, conducting inspections, coordinating contractors, and ensuring all engineering works comply with safety and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:

Assist Engineers in the planning, execution, and supervision of maintenance, repair, and installation works. Perform routine inspections and troubleshooting of electrical, mechanical, or equipment systems. Support preventive and corrective maintenance programs to ensure optimal equipment performance. Prepare daily reports, maintenance checklists, and technical documentation. Coordinate with contractors and vendors to carry out repair and servicing works. Monitor and ensure all works comply with safety regulations and standard operating procedures. Assist in testing and commissioning of new systems or equipment. Provide technical support and respond promptly to breakdowns or emergency issues. Maintain spare parts inventory and update maintenance records in the system. Support improvement projects and cost-saving initiatives.

Requirements:

Diploma or Nitec/Higher Nitec in Electrical, Mechanical, Mechatronics, or related Engineering discipline. 1-3 years of relevant working experience in maintenance or engineering support. Hands-on experience in troubleshooting mechanical or electrical systems. Knowledge of preventive maintenance and safety standards. Strong problem-solving, teamwork, and communication skills.
