Job Description

What the role is:

JTC utilises geospatial data science and technology in its planning and processes geospatial data from various sources like drawings, surveys, LiDAR, satellite imaging, aerial photography and IoT sensors. This data empowers our users with detailed insights into industrial land and infrastructure. We are looking for passionate individuals to join our Estate & Technical Support (ETSU) team. You will get the opportunity to work with massive submission plans and survey information, translating them into spatial data. Thia role involves data management, quality improvement, and collaboration with planning teams.

What you will be working on:

• Handle and read submission (CAD/BIM) building plans, infrastructure projects and survey information related to JTC estates, analyse and digitalise the information into GIS database; \xe2\x80\xa2 Responsible for GIS data quality and ensure completeness; \xe2\x80\xa2 Evaluate new data sources for quality and attribution to support estate work requirements; \xe2\x80\xa2 Perform geospatial engineering tasks such data extraction, cleaning, transforming and preprocessing the data for analysis; \xe2\x80\xa2 Prepare plans from GIS database to support planning decisions; \xe2\x80\xa2 Perform spatial queries and use of geoprocessing tools; \xe2\x80\xa2 Provide regular support for reviewing of data and updating processes or, making adjustments ; \xe2\x80\xa2 Work closely with planners, architects, engineers, estate managers and surveyors on estate and land-related matters;

What we are looking for:

• Background in Built Environment, Planning, Architecture, IT, Engineering or other relevant technical disciplines, preferably with exposure to engineering CAD and GIS. \xe2\x80\xa2 Over 2 years of experience with mapping or drafting tools. Fresh graduates are also welcome to apply; \xe2\x80\xa2 A pleasing personality, enjoy team setting and comfortable in communicating with people; \xe2\x80\xa2 meticulous and attention to details; \xe2\x80\xa2 Self-organise and have good time management \xe2\x80\xa2 The following experiences are advantageous - Experience in performing spatial operations, advanced queries, and joins in SQL; - Intermediate to advanced experience working with GIS databases; - Prior experience with ETL workflows; - Scripting in Python or equivalent languages; - Experience with 3D GIS / BIM
