Job Description


The Event Sales Manager is responsible for the sale of delegate tickets for events and media business within Australia and New Zealand and/or Southeast Asia. The Sales Executive will grow delegate sales revenue by identifying potential new clients, cold calling prospective customers, managing customer enquiries, conducting sales calls, negotiating, and closing delegate registrations.

About the Role
As an Events Sales Manager, you will:

  • Contact existing and prospective clients by telephone or e-mail in order to solicit delegate sales for events
  • Build new leads for events with a view of securing additional sales
  • Understand key value position in an event agenda, and be able to deliver prepared sales talks in order to persuade potential clients to purchase a delegate ticket
  • Deliver a high level of customer service including and not limited to: Explain services and prices, answer questions from customers, follow through the sales process, and support the customers\xe2\x80\x99 requirements until end of the event.
  • Obtain customer information such as name, address, and payment method, and enter orders into the registration system.
  • Record names, contact details, purchases, and reactions of prospects contacted and manage a pipeline to ensure an adequate number of leads are identified and converted into sales
  • Address inbound enquiries from potential customers regarding upcoming classes in a timely and professional manner
  • Provide timely, accurate and informative reports to your manager
  • Work closely with the event and management teams to consistently improve service offerings, and to ensure that fulfilments are delivered timely
  • To meet and exceed all assigned sales targets
  • Be onsite at the event if assigned to an in-person event and be present for all virtual events.
  • A positive attitude, and a cheerful demeanor in communication with customers
About You
As an Events Sales Manager, you should have:
  • Minimum 3-5 years relevant experience in telesales with sales targets required.
  • Independent, results driven, and customer focused in a fast-moving environment
  • Ability to pick up key points in a programme agenda, build rapport with key customers and communicate clearly and fluently.
  • Fluency in English is a requirement, fluency in other Asian languages is an advantage.
  • Preference for candidates with experience in event/exhibition delegate sales and/or in publishing subscription sales
