Business Analyst
Job Purpose
The incumbent will formulate and define system scope, objectives and requirements base on both user needs and a thorough understanding of business systems and industry requirements.
Main Duties/Responsibilities
Work with the business to clearly understand the business problem/opportunity
Conducts research on possible solutions and makes recommendations based on findings
Develops proposals that outline feasibility; suggests, designs, tests, implements
Maps and analyses business processes and data flows for current and future states.
Participate in all phases of greenfield setup of core administration system, identifies and refines business objectives, rules, and requirements using appropriate deliverables and converts them into technical requirements
Conduct insightful, ad hoc analysis to investigate ongoing or one-time operational issues
Devises or modifies procedures to solve complex problems considering system capabilities and limitations, operation time, and form of desired results.
Undertake analysis of business processes and user needs to provide clearly documented business systems requirements
Work with the technical teams and testers to translate business requirements into functional specifications and detailed test plans.
Collaborates with developers and subject matter experts to establish the technical vision and analyse trade-offs between usability and performance needs.
Analyses and documents project gaps and risks
Consult with internal and supplier business and technical staff to understand requirements and functional designs; participate in development of documentation
Collaborate with Project, Architecture and Configuration teams on analysis, design, best practices, consistency within projects and across markets
Conducts system integration testing
Support user acceptance testing
Support integration and user acceptance testing of defect fixes, enhancements and on-going releases
Escalate gaps and/or issues to Project Lead and collaborate to resolve
Assist with internal configuration work as needed (Demo set up, Foundation, QA configuration support, etc.)
Analyses, troubleshoots, and helps resolve issues encountered during testing and post-implementation.
Experience Required
Minimum 5 years of experience in Insurance industry
Understanding of Health Insurance is preferred
Possesses full technical knowledge of most phases of systems analysis, in consideration on the business implications of the application of technology to the current and future business environment.
Skilled in analysing and documenting complex business processes
Strong experience of writing requirements specifications for information systems
In depth understanding of the principles, methods, techniques and tools of change process management and the relationship to project management and business improvement
Strong understanding of systems and ability to assimilate and interpret advice from technical specialists
A sound understanding of the software development lifecycle
Skills
Strong problem-solving capacity
Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written
Collaborative Strong task management skills
PC literate - solid knowledge of Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
Basic HTML, Javascript or logic app (Data Hub) scripting
Good time management and able to prioritize tasks with minimal supervision
Self-motivated with strong sense of ownership
