What the role is:We are looking for self-driven, committed, and inquisitive candidates to join the Environmental Health Institute, where research conducted in a multi-disciplinary environment is translated into evidence-based public health programs and policies.What you will be working on:The selected candidates will be part of the Facility & Safety Management Section, which provides facility support and safety management of the institute. You will be involved in the project management for setting up specialised laboratories handling hazardous materials such as chemicals and biological agents. You will be tasked to develop a comprehensive project plan for the establishment of specialised laboratories, including defining project scope, objectives, timelines, and resource requirements. You will also be responsible for coordinating with various stakeholders, such as researchers, consultants, contractors, equipment suppliers, and regulatory authorities to ensure smooth and timely execution of the project. In addition, you are required to participate in corporate projects and perform administrative tasks as assigned by your supervisor.You will be responsible for the following:

• Lead the strategic planning and coordination efforts for the establishment of specialised laboratories, ensuring alignment with organisational objectives and timelines.
• Manage the budget allocation and resource utilisation for the setup of specialised laboratories, optimizing cost-efficiency and resource allocation.
• Identify potential risks associated with laboratory setup and operations and develop robust risk mitigation strategies to ensure the safety and compliance for handling of hazardous materials.
• Implement and oversee quality assurance processes to ensure that the specialised laboratories meet stringent quality standards and regulatory requirements.
• Facilitate effective communication and collaboration with internal and external stakeholders, including researchers, consultants, contractors, equipment suppliers, and regulatory authorities, to ensure timely project execution and compliance.

What we are looking for:The job might be for you if you possess the following qualities:

• Relevant work experience in new facility setup, preferably in specialised laboratories with good knowledge of the ventilation systems.
• Good understanding of regulatory requirements related to the setup and operation of specialised laboratories, including handling of hazardous materials
• Ability to identify potential risks and develop effective risk mitigation strategies to ensure the safety and compliance of laboratory operations.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to address complex challenges related to project execution, facility support and safety management.
• Resourceful, systematic, meticulous with an eye for detail, and ability to work in a team as well as independently.
• Possess good interpersonal skills and able to communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
