What the role is:Long-term planning has shaped the city that we live in today. Our long-term plans guide the development of Singapore, mapping out strategic land uses and infrastructure needs over the next 50 years and beyond. In this position, you play a key role in reviewing and updating Singapore\'s Long Term Land Use Plan based on evolving trends and changing demands of a variety of key concerns such as transportation, housing, aging, environmental impact and sustainabilityWhat you will be working on:You will help to draw up strategic land use and infrastructure plans to guide Singapore\'s long term physical development, formulate and review land use policies and translate them into detailed planning guidelines to facilitate implementation. You are expected to harness GIS and develop applications for planning analysis and undertake research on urban development that will contribute towards a highly liveable, economically vibrant and resilient Singapore. Particular focus will be on optimising land, integrating land use with transportation and environmental planning.What we are looking for:Requirements \xe2\x80\xa2 A degree/postgraduate diploma in urban and regional planning, civil engineering, transport planning, environmental studies, building, real estate, geography. In the alternative, candidates without a degree should possess at least 4 years of planning-related research experience. \xe2\x80\xa2 Strong interest in the physical urban development of Singapore \xe2\x80\xa2 Strong ability to develop insights from data \xe2\x80\xa2 Possess 2-3 years of experience in policy research, review and formulation \xe2\x80\xa2 Excellent analytical and writing skills \xe2\x80\xa2 Good presentation and communication skills \xe2\x80\xa2 Have good knowledge and experience of using GIS \xe2\x80\xa2 Quick learners with a high level of commitment will have an advantage \xe2\x80\xa2 Ability to work independently as well as in a team is a mustAbout Urban Redevelopment Authority:The Urban Redevelopment Authority (URA) is Singapore\'s national land use planning authority. URA prepares long term strategic plans, as well as detailed local area plans, for physical development, and then co-ordinates and guides efforts to bring these plans to reality.
