[What the role is]
You will work with a team of officers in the National Radiochemistry Laboratory to implement the environment monitoring programme and establish the background radioactivity levels in Singapore.
[What you will be working on]
You will be responsible for the following:
Conduct outdoor and indoor environment sampling
Carry out sample preparation and perform laboratory analysis
Operate, perform quality checks, and maintain functionality of laboratory equipment
Develop and implement procedures to ensure safe and secure operation of laboratory activities
Optimise and improve environment sampling protocol, analysis techniques, and comprehensive monitoring programme to meet organisation\xe2\x80\x99s objectives
Provide technical support and advice on laboratory analysis and assessment matters to relevant government agencies
Participate in projects and be involved in research or any other related activities such as emergency response as required by the Department
[What we are looking for]
Job Requirements:
Degree in Radiochemistry, Chemistry or equivalent with preferably at least 2 years of relevant working experience in a laboratory
Proficient in Microsoft Office Excel and/or data analysis tools
Ability to work independently and in a team
A good team player with strong interpersonal skills
Good interpersonal communication skills
Outgoing and pleasant personality
Meticulous with an eye for detail
Good analytical, writing and presentation skills
Good time management skills; able to meet tight deadlines and adapt to changes
Organised and able to multi-task
Highly self-motivated, resourceful and takes initiative
